STRENGTHS Strategic Adaptive Quick Learner Quick Witted WEAKNESSES Trust Issues Off Putting Follower Self-Censoring Dealing With Nature BIGGEST FLAW GENERAL Cissy makes a joke out of everything, even if it comes out offensive. She doesn’t always think before she speaks, even though she knows better. She’s always doing something with her hands, be it eating, cleaning (or holding) a gun, or building some kind of structure out of scraps collected from the cities. She was going to go to school as an architect. She doesn’t do well in dealing with nature, so she prefers cities and Walkers over people and camps.

AT A GLANCE BRAVE LOYAL STUBBORN QUICK LEARNER STRONG WILLED SELF-DESTRUCTIVE ANTAGONISTIC PRIDEFUL IMPULSIVE HARSH The first thing people generally notice upon meeting her is her walk. Cissy takes tall strides that defeat her height. She walks with a purpose - and that is definitely nothing to do with you. At first glance, Cissy looks like a typical blonde. She has blue eyes, soft, round features and a thin figure clothed by tanktops, jeans and a pair of combat boots.

First and foremost, however, Cissy is a survivor. She fights tooth and nail to overcome every obstacle thrown at her – even if they stemmed from her own emotions. She has a determination that will not be defeated. She believes she is in control of her own destiny. Giving up or giving in is not an option. She refuses to take the coward's way out. Cissy needs people to feel safe, assured and sane. She’ll always be an outsider, but there is a kind of joy in being needed that keeps her self-satisfied. She is good at taking care of people and looking after their needs - even if they don’t quite agree what those needs are. There is a lot of self-destruction that creates barriers from the get-go, but Cissy is too proud and too stubborn to let it get the best of her. Sometimes pride is the only thing that keeps her going when people let her down. That being said, people and that sense of community is something Cissy will give her life to be a part of. She understands that sacrifices have to be made, and that everybody has a part to play. As much as she hates people and as much as she pushes them away, she will do anything to protect her own. She’ll dive in headfirst without looking back. It takes a lot to be claimed by Cissy. She goes out of her way to hold people at arm length and once you get past that there are plenty of walls to take down. Her wit is mean and strikes like daggers – with deadly accuracy. Cissy uses sarcasm like a shield to deflect the seriousness of the situation at hand. She reminds people to loosen up or back off with a quick remark that deflects negative tension. It doesn’t always work. In fact, sometimes she just makes things worse. Still, if the situation calls for it, she’s glad to take on the attention. Sometimes, being loud is the only way to shield that hidden vulnerability. She tries to push people away with words that have a knife's edge before they can hurt her first. If antagonizing them doesn’t work, then she easily falls back to insults and obnoxious complaints. Her aggressive behavior is her front-line defense. She wants to give the appearance of being strong and independent, so she bites sharper than she intends. She’s an act first, think later kind of girl. When confronted with consequences, she deals with them systematically like the symptoms of a cold. Once you get past her rough exterior, Cissy isn’t that different from most women. Beyond the brick walls of her defense, she’s soft-hearted and dreams of being apart of something bigger than herself. She is definitely someone you want on your side. She learns quickly and can adapt to any situation. Her on-the-go intellect won’t allow her to follow anyone blind, but she’ll never leave someone she cares about behind. She’s the kind of fighter who would confront her worst enemy face-first given the choice. HISTORY Cissy’s parents, Emily Brunner and Cassidy Arnold were best friends. Her conception was the product of a drunken night, entirely built on revenge. Cassidy tried to stick around and work things out with his girlfriend at the same time but it didn’t take. Eventually, he became little more than a distant relative who stopped by on occasion. He never missed a birthday, but their relationship consisted of cards and casual friendship more than father-daughter interactions. There were many men after Cassidy and figuring out what made them tick became a game. The men were dates – temporary toys that would go away when they got old. In Cissy’s eyes, it was her and her mother versus the world. The two of them often made bets on how long the new guy would last. Cassidy showed up every so often, to take up the couch, and he’d join in the game until his then-wife let him back in the house. Eventually Daniel Tamwood came into the picture. Things were fine at first, but as a year passed and then another, Cissy grew more and more uncomfortable with the idea of someone else invading their space. When Daniel and his son moved in, things only got worse. She antagonized everybody, refusing to give him a chance. Despite her efforts, Cissy was ignored. She gave up trying to get them out of her house (apartment, rather), but she was far from civil. She was thirteen and scared that she was losing her mother to another man. She preferred to pretend like Daniel and his son didn’t exist. After a year of being settled, Daniel and Emily moved their family to a condo. By now, there was an unspoken agreement that if they leave Cissy alone, she’d leave them alone in return. “It’s just a phase, she’ll get over it”, was how her mother rationalized to Daniel. He wasn’t quite ready to let it slide. He teetered between being strict and disciplinary, and coaxing. When she was sixteen, in a last-ditch effort to mend the sour relationship, Cissy was thrown into a trip with Daniel and his son, Jimmy in an effort to “get them to know each other better”. Cissy cooled off a little - especially after an accident in the woods - and the three emerged closer to family than any of them ever thought they would be. They were on their way home when the Outbreak happened and only survived after running into another group of campers. Cissy, Daniel, and Jimmy ended up traveling with this group. Supplies were low and with Daniel, Jimmy and Cissy being strangers, tension were high. While trying to get more supplies, Cissy discovered that these people could be seduced into giving away their supplies. She took advantage of the fact that she was the only female in a group of men. When Daniel found out, he was furious. He took action and the group broke apart. They lost Jimmy along the way. The loss devastated them, but eventually they ended up in Atlanta. Things were looking up when they took to hiding out in a secure building just outside of the city. The walkers were few, and there were plenty of supplies. Fate struck again, however, and Daniel ended up sick. The fever left him bedridden, and Cissy had to fend for the both of them. A walker broke into the building one day while Cissy was out grabbing supplies. Daniel fought the walker off, but not before he was bitten. He killed himself before Cissy made it back and she’s been alone ever since. |
