Halloween Week Elseworlds: The Doom That Came to Gotham (1.5 of 3)
Five quick pages to serve as a teaser, since I'm going to be asleep the rest of today (skipping class -- I'm dead tired) and very busy tomorrow.

First post is here: http://asylums.insanejournal.com/scans_daily/1147965.html

Sorry to disappoint whoever it was that liked having all three Robins present and getting along. )

5 pages (out of 48, minimum of 11 remaining) from #2.

An old favorite of mine for Halloween Week (1 of 3)
The Doom That Came To Gotham.

Mike Mignola writes an Elseworlds crossover between Batman...

...and the Cthulhu mythos.

In fact, the name's a nod to H.P. Lovecraft's short story, 'The Doom That Came To Sarnath.' )

Page count: 16 out of 48. And man, I had to cut a lot of good stuff (snarky commentary, homages, references) to pare it down that far. Since this is out of print and pretty hard to find, is there any chance of being allowed to post more than the usual 1/3 limit?

Tangent Superman's Reign #1-3
Since it was requested time to post some Tangent Superman's Reign. I was a big fan of Tangent though my comic reading time came much after it ended.

It was a comic line that existed and was made of several one shots concerning different heroes within the same universe. Ones with name's like the regular DCU'ers but completely different otherwise, might post some of the old Tangent Stuff later as well but for now....the first three issues!

Basic set up...

E-9, the Tangent Universe and New Earth (erroneously labeled E-1 many times throughout the series) meet for the first (well, not actually they had a little prelude in Ion Gaurdian of the Universe and then a issue of JLA that led into the mini/maxi 12 issue series)

Issue 1 )
Issue 2 )

Issue 3! )

Citizen Wayne, by popular demand
Several people expressed interest in seeing a sample of the Elseworlds story "Citizen Wayne", set in the 30's, so:

As a bonus, here are a few Batman- or superhero-themed cartoons gleaned from different places.

Elseworlds
I just acquired Superman/Batman: Alternate Histories. It includes "Leatherwing" (Pirate!Batman), "Legacy" (a Superman who got here 200 years earlier and prevented the American Revolution), "Crucible of Freedom" ("John Henry Irons is born and raised as a slave during the 1800s"), and finally, "Citizen Wayne" (1930s noir).

Under the cut, two scans from the pirate one.

Superman Elseworlds: True Brit
I just acquired a copy of True Brit, about what if baby Kal-El had landed in England instead of the U.S. I was eager to read this, but alas, the author apparently really dislikes Brits. Just one page to show you what I mean. The whole book's like this.

EDIT: Turns out the author is John Cleese - I didn't even look. Poking fun at his own country is his usual schtick. It's still not what I hoped for.
