05:40 pm [vicky_wayne] [Link]	The Saga of Itty I posted it over at the place I post stuff and I was told I "NEED" to post it for the world to see, and so I shall! The wonder of Itty should be given to the world, after all. Dial-up warning: this post is epic big. Like, 40 images or something over about two decades, so proceed with caution if bandwidth is tiny; I've so been there. So, what's in all this epic-ness? Cuteness! Tentacles! Alien sex! Hal intentionally crashing into a tree! Homoerotic tension with Ollie! Homoerotic tension with Barry! Hal in chains! Hal as a giant! It's all here, and more, in the more-or-less complete story of Hal's little buddy Itty. What is Itty, do you ask? He's one of the Ayries. They look like this: It takes him about those twenty years to actually have lines, which does not stop him from being amazingly helpful. And adorable. ( Wanna ride? Zooom! ) I really like the character and all, but I don't feel that big need to see him pop back up again. Would that be super-neat? Oh sure. But sometimes, the end is just so good that it leaves you with just that right feeling of closure. 09:37 am [kagome654] [Link]	It's a guy thing Someone asked for Connor Hawke scans a while back, and while I'd like to post the JLA stuff with the most likable fellow to go by the name 'Green Arrow' I haven't been able to dig it out yet. I'm disorganized. I did find something during my rummaging that I thought was worth posting though. I think almost everyone knows how Ollie died (OMG, SPOILER!?), refusing to let Superman rip his arm off he perished when a plane exploded (well, there was a little more to it than that, but whatever). The heroes all mourn in their own ways until Guy asks something that really should have come up sooner... 11:19 pm [innerbrat] [Link]	Snowbirds Don't Fly: Green Lantern/Green Arrow #85 and #86 Woo! First post to the new community. I did come here to post some scans of Golden Age Black Canary, but I saw uadlika asked for some scans from Snow Birds Don't Fly, so of course I had to. ( Seven Scans from Green Lantern Green Arrow #85 ) Dinah doesn't actually appear until the next issue. In A Day Without Sirens, there are posters up advertising a day without guns, knives, etc. Despite Jim Gordon's complete disbelief, there are 24 hours without a single 911 call and a downtrodden Jim is much cheerier when he meets Batman, who seems quite happy himself. ( 2 scans under the cut ) In It's a Wonderful Night, Dick runs into trouble while trying to hand deliver a special present for Tim. He then discovers Tim with Owen Mercer at a showing of 'It's A Wonderful Life'. ( 2 scans under the cut ) In The Night Before Christmas, the Teen Titans take a christmas break and go hang out. Tim is a bit emo and he and Cassie reflect at Rockerfeller Centre. ( 2 scans under the cut ) In Party Animal, John Stewart (Green Lantern) and Roy Harper (Red Arrow), are late for the Christmas party, which even Batman is attending. They bring Shaggy Man along to give S.T.A.R labs a break, who gets spooked by the singing. Let's face it, you would too. It all ends with a good partying. I prefaced the entry by saying it was a continuation of sorts of an older story known as 'The List' (published in Action Comics Weekly #606). I've finally decided to post part of that story, which depicts a surprisingly vulnerable Hal Jordan and (even more surprising) an uncharacteristically rude Alfred Pennyworth. Even for Greg Land, this is a bad cover. Those who haven't seen on the trade or the first time it was printed with #67, I'm not posting it, I'm not linking it, I'm not subjecting you to it. If you want to see it, it'll have to be on your own time by your own decision. I'm just here to talk about it. I'd originally decided to tear it off and burn it, but I don't keep matches anymore since I quit smoking a few weeks ago. The current series of Green Arrow/Black Canary leaves much to be desired, so I went looking for Ollie and Dinah in happier times, and there is a lot of it from the Grell run (and yes, unhappy times and torture and Ollie being a big man-child as he can be). I'm posting here some scans of some of one of my favorite features of the Grell run, that is, the clear passage of time as marked by Ollie's birthdays. There are 10 scans, from Longbow Hunters #1, Green Arrow #10, #21, #51, and #63. The Longbow Hunters is in trade, alas the others are not.
