Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #2

Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #2 was more or less setting up the new status quo. The bulk of the issue is about Spider-Man fighting a mother/daughter supervillain team called "The Bombshells" (and I don't know if its' the art, but the daughter looks like she's Molly Hayes' age and she's wearing a pretty skimpy outfit, and it's a little off-putting IMO). The scene I'm posting takes place earlier in the issue.

When I saw that first panel, I went "Who is that? It can't be Kong?" Then I saw the next, and I literally went WTF. I don't know if I like this new look. It's just...not Kong. So that was by far the biggest moment of the issue for me, seeing Kong's new look.

So far I have to say I'm liking the title and the new direction that it's going in. Except, that is, for Kingpin's 'death' in the last issue. But I don't want to get into that now...

If she was a male clone, I might be able to see that. But y'know, the Spider-Man costume is a bit tight so her...feminine wiles would probably be showing.

There were one or two males. One was covered in Tarantula-fur, one was Kaine, and one was the Scorpion. I'd presume it was the latter, if this were the case.

Or, who knows, maybe they just...cloned another one?

Well, Doctor Octopus killed Tarantula and Kaine, and Scorpion is currently in SHIELD custody (and has the tail permanently welded to his body, so its definitely not him).

If it is a clone, it's a clone that genuinely believes that he's Peter and not someone trying to screw with the cast, given his opening monologue to himself in the first issue.

I'm 99% sure that the Peter in the comics at the moment is the genuine deal.
