WORLD’S FINEST #3
Written by Sterling Gates
Art by Jamal Igle
Covers by Phil Noto
The Toyman has crafted the ultimate killing machine to protect himself from the Kryptonian menace, and Oracle has sent Supergirl and Batgirl to stop it. But when Supergirl faces off against the Kryptonite Man while the new Batgirl takes on Catwoman, they both find themselves in over their heads. This looks like a job for...
Retailers please note: This issue will ship with two covers, both by Phil Noto, that can be ordered separately. Cover A will feature Supergirl. Cover B will feature Batgirl. Please see the Previews Order Form for more information.

Awesome cover, right? We get more Kara/Babs interaction, swell! but I noticed one thing 'they both find themselves in over their heads. This looks like a job for...'. As the saying goes 'Superman' and we know the next issue is superman/dick!batman. This is frustrating and annoying and becoming a pattern. I show you next month's Supergirl cover.

SUPERGIRL #46
Written by Sterling Gates & Greg Rucka
Art by Jamal Igle & Jon Sibal
Cover by Joshua Middleton
Continuing from ACTION COMICS #882, “The Hunt for Reactron” concludes! It’s the final showdown between Flamebird, Supergirl and the man who killed their father. And for the Daughters of Zor-El, that means it’s payback time. Will Reactron make it out alive? Or is Nightwing the only one who can save them all?

Girls, they try so hard. Fail so utterly. Lets hope there is more to this than the solicits suggest

Um, why is Batgirl not on the cover of an issue that's supposed to be featuring a team up between her and Supergirl? I thought the issue was going to be about a team-up between Catwoman and Supergirl at first. (And then was disappointed.)

So Cass doesn't get a heroeic team up with Supergirl, but Steph does within her first five issues?

Fuck you, DC.

Was there a viable Supergirl when Cass debuted? And since NML was all about how the Batclan DON'T interact with other heroes because of Daddy!Bat's franchise protecting rules, is that a surprise.

Well if Cass did team up with her it would've been during that whole time when Supergirl was halfway between wanting to kill Superman and doing wahtever she wanted to.

And then Cass was evilish/mindcontrolled for a while and met Supergirl when she tried to kill her and got crystalled.

The first leads me to believe some misdirection, maybe Babs will save them.

As for Action, well they have been selling Chris' biology as different and since this is Reactron I am willing to say this makes actual sense.

I fully believe that a writer can write any conclusion he/she desires if they are creative enough. It doesn't have to end that way. Supergirl has beaten him while powerless before. So why now does she need Chris or Thara?

Good call! Besides, they've been pushing the continuing story arcs linking Superman/Supergirl/Action/New Krypton with varying degrees of success, with each individual story not necessarily being seen as a solo for the star of that book.

See, I was seeing this as a traditional 'you fight the other guy's problem' issue. Supergirl takes Catwoman, Batgirl takes the Kryptonite Man.

Okay, call me slow, but I just noticed this. WHY THE HECK IS CATWOMAN BEING PORTRAYED AS A VILLAIN? She doesn't do that anymore and even when she did, I can't see her causing problems big enough for Batgirl to bother, especially since Gotham's still supposed to be a bad shape. Not to mention the fact that there's no frickin' way Steph can take Selina, who has a lot more experience. Honestly, if they want to have Selina return to her thieving ways that's mostly okay with me--as long as they do it right--but it doesn't seem right to have it happen in an miniseries that doesn't even feature Catwoman.
