Batman Vs Predator Part III
The epic battle with some equally epic moments...

If I went over please tell me and I'll remove pages necessary to make this legal. Eleven pages but twelve scans in all.

So we enter round two between these two titans. The first time the Predator handed Batman a pretty hard loss. However, Bats still survived the encounter. Which means round 2 he employs his greatest weapons, preptime and his planning.

Will it be enough to beat the Predator though?

I always wondered after reading No Man's Land. The dude holding Gordon, looks very similar to Petit, a former GPD SWAT member who later had his own faction during that event? I couldn't help but think that when looking back at this.

Bats then lures the Predator away from Gotham and any innocent civilians to the Bat cave where he reveals the full nature of his plan to beat the beast:

Bruce then uses a ripped power cord to short circuit the bomb though it free's the Predator. The two continue their fight though for a moment Bruce pulls a Danny Glover wanting to see what the heck the Predator looks like under the mask. And just right after it's removed like old Danny boy he falls for the same trick:

GO ALFRED!!

With that the Predator tries to retreat from the pair. It's then the Pred finds Bruce or Thomas's "trophies" from hunting. It begins to realize it might just had bitten off more than it can chew.

Bruce after getting freed renews the hunt:

It's then the Predator's kin arrive in full force. Unlike Danny Glover there's no bad assery from Bruce stating, "Whose next?"

With that the Predators take the body away and leave Earth.

And so ends the first and best of the Batman Vs Predator books. There where two more. The next one has the Huntress in it. But I only have one issue of that.

I do have is the final book that features Batman taking on a Predator or should I say Predators being there are two going after him. However, Tim and Mr. Freeze join the party though the later doesn't do much but hide in a freezer and reveal an plot point. If you want I can scan and post that.

Now as an added treat here's Batman: Dead End.

Love that Bruce's final play is to beat the mess out of the Predator with a baseball bat. And that the Predator seems to realize the irony of it... laughing (or playing back laughter?) after his foe introduces himself as "Bat"man.

I am _almost_ sure that is Petit. Same position, roughly, same behavior. And yes, this is 'exactly how it would happen'. Perfect. Not a Bat-God, just a brutal hard-ass long fight, using every skill he has. Plus Alfred. One of the very few 'Good Crossovers'.

Was there an actual appearance of Petit? Or was he always behind the scenes?

I love Alfred's comment to the giant alien killer who's just a squeeze away from snapping his neck, that he's just a big bully.

Before such cross-overs became bland and boring, THIS was awesome.

And as usual, Alfred for the win.

I remember reading this and mentally remixing Danny Elfman's Batman theme with Alan Silvestri's Predator theme - there are moments when the soaring strings and thudding drums could make the mashup work...

Same here when I first read this. It matched all the beats to a Predator movie and a Batman comic perfectly.

Good to see that even a Predator can appreciate a good pun.

So has the Predator's sword showed up as a trophy in any of the mainstream Bat-books? That would be awesome.
