I realize it’s a function of the story for this to be Tim’s quest rather than something the whole family endorses and participates in, but it feels more than a little ridiculous and contrived for him to spout abstractions and whole lot of entitled, adolescent whining in lieu of actual concrete evidence and then expect Dick to even pretend to take him seriously. And it bothers me even more that it's the whining and the abstractions that will be proven right in the end when Bruce does come back, rather than Tim realizing he's failing to cope with reality and needs some serious help.
It's kind of made even worse by the way almost everything in the story seems to give the impression that it's more a need for the safety of the old status quo that’s motivating him than Bruce possibly not being dead. Because we all know that when Bruce comes back Damian will magically disappear, Dick will cease to be an authority figure, and the costume he’d more than outgrown even before Bruce died will be his to wear again. Bruce, after all, has such a history of fair and rational decision making when it comes time to play who-gets-the-panties.
Maybe the point is for Tim to eventually realize that on his own and move beyond it, but I kinda wish it was progressing a little differently in the meantime.
