Christ.

It's completely impossible to please people in here.

Make Steph look bad, y'all bitch. Make her look good and give her a series that's looking pretty well-written so far, and y'all bitch. It sucks for Cass, it really does, but I look at this page of comments and completely understand why DC tries its damndest to not ever listen to fans.

A Batgirl series featuring Steph as Spoiler and Cass as Batgirl probably would have pleased most people. Bonus points for Babs taking them under he wing. Most people seem upset that for Steph to get a series, Cass has been shafted in the process, normally because people are fans of both characters and would like to see good things happening to Steph without another character getting the shaft.

And, honestly, that's not impossible.

For you and a handful of others probably. But honestly there would still be somebody else unhappy and bitching. You can't make everyone happy. It's a fact.

Nope, you can't make everyone happy. You can make more people happy though.

I just think it's hilarious more than anything else. Not so long ago, and for a long time, Steph was the golden girl around these parts. Everyone was invested in her, everyone was affronted at the way DC was treating her, she was pretty much poster girl for fanboygirl rage.

And now? Something awesome and wonderful has happened to Stephanie Brown, and responses range from "Meh, don't care," to "NOOOOO HOW DARE THEY?????" All of a sudden, Steph's good fortune has become a scapegoat punching bag for all your disgust towards Cassandra Cain's treatment.

And y'know what...it's happened before. It's happened over and over and over again. Hal and Barry. Jaime Reyes. Renee Montoya.

What's more, it's the first bloody issue. How many people here bitching have even read the book at all? It's fucking hilarious. It's a complete testament to the fickle, bitter nature of fandom. Every time anyone complains that comic book writers don't take fans more seriously, I'm going to think back to this moment in time.

at the expense of something awesome and wonderful to Cassandra Cain. It's that simple. You don't have to make bad Cass to make good Steph or vice versa. Steph could have stayed Spoiler and I would have loved a team up title with the two of them.

And y'know what...it's happened before. It's happened over and over and over again. Hal and Barry. Jaime Reyes. Renee Montoya.

One died saving the multiverse after 29 years.

Another died telling an evil overlord to rot in hell and refusing to give in after 39 years.

Another died continuing his philosphical journey to answer every question after 39 years.

Another died (while the first part of Hal's death was fucking moroning, the second part was awesome) reigniting the sun after 35 years.

Another quit after 10 years, the last 3 years having been filled to the brim with awful plots and characterization that completely defied things that specifically were said before.

Also, I like that you ignore comments like

Just finished reading it and I really liked it!
And I really did enjoy this issue, quite a lot more than I thought I would.
I'm kind of excited about this.

And choose to begin your scale with "meh, whatever".
