This is all I recall of him showing up. If there was more about their ship in Morrison's series, remind me and I'll dig it up and include it here.

That bread must be really stale by now.

Of course it isn't. He's the Phantom Stranger, and he could do anything he wants. Including un-stale-ify bread when needed.

Not to mention that he had to stand outside for who-knows-how-long, waiting for someone to use the word "stranger" in a sentence so he could enter on cue.

That's just how P.S. rolls. He just can't walk in and be all, "Here's your bread, Cassandra." He has to make an entrance. Anything else just wouldn't fit him.

That's not exactly a major plot twist.

Cassandra Craft first appeared in Phantom Stranger #17 (in 1973), and was a regular in the book for a chunk of it's run.

It's a major plot twist for people who haven't been reading 40 year old comics about the Phantom Stranger.

Assuming such people exist...

Yeah, that was probably my favorite part of Seven Soldiers.

*squeals!* Hooray!

I think they're adorable together. Definitely my comics OTP.

I LOVED that series, and have used grocery-shopping Stranger as an icon elsewhere. He is awesome!
