The Commissioner and The Butler
Someone requested scenes of Jim Gordon interacting with heroes other than Batman and Robin. I don't know if Alfred counts as a "hero", but here's a cute story from 1977. It's only 8 pages, so unfortunately I can only show you small bits of it.

This is from BATMAN FAMILY #11. The story is by Bob Rozakis, and the art is by Carl Potts and Frank McLaughlin.

Alfred is worried that Gordon will start snooping around and find the Batcave entrance. So he decides to distract him by disguising himself as a burglar. As you might guess, this doesn't turn out well:

Alfred kicks Gordon in the head (it's a wonder they didn't both come out of this with concussions) and manages to escape. Then Alfred sneaks back in via the Batcave, and changes back into his normal clothes:

Tsk, tsk, Alfie...forgetting to change your shoes? Batman would be ashamed. Which leads to this interesting exchange:

I love Gordon's smugness and Alfred's "Oh, shit" expression in the last panel.

As long as no one puts up anything from that God awful "manhunters" dc epic...

I'm sorry, I'm still trying to wrap my head around "Alfred is worried that Gordon will start snooping around and find the Batcave entrance. So he decides to distract him by disguising himself as a burglar."

I think even Voldemort might reject that plan as being too convoluted with too many chances for failure.

I think I sailed right past logic and moored myself in "Alfred and Jim Gordon hijinks" bay. Or something. I should never use metaphors.

But yeah. What you said.

I liked when he met Raven.

I always liked the tongue in cheek "Gordon doesn't know... HA!" thing the Bat titles have had since the '70's.

I like the "The "Surprise End"". Thank you comic, I'm glad I was informed of whather I had to be surprised or not.

And the title of the story is "Surprise, Surprise!" So it should come as no surprise that you're going to be surprised. ;-)

So awesome. I love the Commish catching that detail of Alfred's shoes.

Oh man, is this the one where Alfred says that he'll lead Gordon on "a merry chase"?

This is definitely one of those stories I wish we could have up here in full, as I'm sure it'll never be reprinted!

If it's anything we lost in the first Crisis, it's Jim Gordon's friendship with Bruce Wayne. Great atory, thanks for posting!

If I remember correctly, Gordon is still at least acquainted with Wayne - he's one of the people that gets invited to Wayne's parties, and stuff like that. The two still have dealings with each other, they're just not quite the same type.
