Completely out of the question. Cap was stronger than normal, but he wasn't able to punch out a tiger. He got chewed up pretty bad by a mastiff in a Simon & Kirby story.

But he's strong enough to snap it's neck? Heck, if he has the tiger in that position, he could have just squeezed it until it passed out.

No, that's just asking too much in a situation like that. A life and death struggle with a full grown tiger? Unless you have major super-powers, you couldn't expect Cap to take a chance like that. If the tiger wriggles around, it's a disembowelment and the next issue would be retitled THE VISION or something.

It's like the cliche of the cowboy shooting the gun out of the bad guy's hand, so as not to hurt him. It's asking too much.

So I take it none of Captain America's villains are stronger than tigers, then?

If it's that important, then yes. Cap should have put a grown tiger in a sleeper hold and made sure it was harmlessly rendered unconscious.

It's not like we're asking a regular police officer to physically take on a tiger. It's Captain America with "steel muscles" and super-soldier serum in his veins. There are plenty of ways he could have dealt with a normal tiger without killing it.

Yes, I agree with you.
