Finishing up my Shockwave posts with the conclusion to this arc that started way back in #5. #11 continues where the previous issue left off with Shockwave learning Prime lost his mojo er.. Creation Matrix:
Shockwave then sends Jetfire after Buster. Buster fights back as shown in One Perfect Moment you can find via tags below. Next issue has Buster trying to save Prime by having Jetfire deliever him to Shockwave. Though really Buster's just making his plan up as he goes.
With Buster in his possession, Shockwave considers Prime worth nothing to him so he sends Jetfire back out dumping Prime's head. The Autobots are there to rescue the head and restore it to Prime's body. However...
The Decepticons live up to their name, having tricked the Autobots by dumping a dupe head that was programed to attack them. There's an amusing scene I couldn't post where Shockwave sends the remaining Decepticons out save for Rumble who he leaves on Guard duty watching the humans. Rumble's all creeped out by being around the humans. Guess he has Human-phobia. Where Starscream, the other Seekers, or the Constructicons are during this I have no idea.
Anyway, Shockwave begins the painful procedure to get the Creation Matrix from Buster who then uses said Deus Ex Machina again on Jetfire to smack Shockwave. He then orders the machine to free Optimus and return it to his body. Rumble watches all this, even more creeped out by the humans, and struggles to bring his leader back online. Back on the battlefield:
YOU GO OPTIMUS! KICK THOSE DECEPTIPUNKS! Shockwave wakes back up and isn't amused by all this, heading to the battleground:
Buster gets freed by the captive workers who scared the crap out of Rumble. Buster returns the creation Matrix to Prime and all is well for the Autobots. Until the next issue with it highlighting that Megatron is back.
Shockwave too returns not soon after that, but alas I was off and on the books and really didn't catch that. I hope you enjoyed this trip back into the 80s.
