Gail, I've been meaning to ask you, in your idea of Wonder Woman, can the Gods create souls, or can they just manipulate and transfer souls that already exist?

When Diana was created, did the Gods simply give her the soul of Polly's unborn daughter from the time Polly was a human, or did they create a brand-new soul to animate the clay?

I ask because I've recently re-read your WW story with Stalker, and the ending always gets me, I feel so bad for poor Elpis... I want to believe that he could gain a soul one day, but if even the Gods can't create souls, then the only way for him to gain a soul would be to take somebody else's, which would still count as a sad ending for the "donor".
