Meet Red She-Hulk

With classic She-Hulk Jennifer Walters (and gamma-powered pal Doc Samson) off the table in the wake of this week's "Incredible Hulk" #600, Loeb hopes to continually up the mystery quotient that has gone along with the series from its inception. "The story that follows immediately after #600 is what happens with Banner and A-Bomb, which in #13 is appropriately called 'Hulk No More,'" the scribe told CBR. "Then #14 through 17 is the 'Code Red' story which is what happens when someone learns 'Who is the Red Hulk?' when he or she is in what we refer to as 'Bruce Banner mode.' That ultimately leads to the conflict between the Red Hulk and X-Force, because it's Domino who finds out. During that time is when we meet Red She-Hulk, and at that point Jen is still missing, so she immediately becomes one of the suspects. And on that, I can't comment either way."

Haw!

It's funny because, when Jen was talking about them having auditions for a "Dark She Hulk," she probably thought it was a joke.

Who do you think she is?

The sai might indicate Elektra.

But do we really need her? We already have Lyra.

I'm not sure what is and is not considered acceptable for... criticism?... under the current rules, so I'm going to just outline some things I dislike, without pointing any fingers to specific people who may or may not have been involved in the project in question, and while trying to avoid making any unkind blanket statements wherever possible. I apologize in advance if anyone is offended by anything I say, but I am not going to lie and say that I look forward to Red She-Hulk.

1. That costume is a wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen. The small chunk of zipper that still works on top is going to give within the next five seconds of this image being captured, and there will be no way to re-close it, leaving the shirt section of the once-jumpsuit held together only by the boob-belt. The lower zipper section looks... very uncomfortable, particularly given that it is impossible for her to be wearing even a thong underneath, and seems to be on the verge of going also. The pants section is being held up by only two torn chunks of leather (vinyl? latex?) and whatever additional scraps on the back, and then it's goodbye pants. I am frankly astonished and impressed that anything at all is being covered, since that jumpsuit seems to be made of more holes than material.

2. While some aspects of the art style are definitely workable, the anatomy on the whole disturbs me. The arms for one are strange and out of proportion. Her pelvis also looks off, as does her ribcage. For example, while a ribcage as slender as some of the upper section is possible, the shoulders would be narrower, and there seem to be some lower ribs missing. The pelvis seems to be starting off too narrow for a woman of that sort of overall build, since the upper body would imply that the bone structure would have to be smaller than the hips themselves, which would only be properly in proportion to a much smaller overall woman - both shorter and slimmer than Red She-Hulk. On the plus side, her boobs do seem to be at least attempting to be anatomically feasible from a gravitational standpoint, if ginormous in relation to much of the rest of her torso.

3. WTF is with the lightning-bolt-streaked Starfire hair. Hair does not work like that, even if the red chunks are dye. I could understand if there was meant to be curly black hair with some chunks bleached and then dyed red, but I don't think that was the objective here. She also has yellow color variant Starfire eyes. Why is this? I'm going to assume the massive eyelashes and black lips are makeup. If this is not the case, I don't want to know.

4. Red Hulk was not particularly enjoyable, regardless of whether or not people bought it anyways. Yes, I'm sure there were some readers who loved it. Pretty much everything will appeal to someone, such as a large proportion of this community jumping for joy when a scan of an alternate universe where Tony Stark is a woman and marries Steve Rogers appeared (yes, I was one of them, I'll admit it). However, what would imply that a Red She-Hulk storyline is a good idea, in light of the Red Hulk plotline?

If anyone wants to try the "but, can *you* do better?" thing on me now... I don't have the sorts of art supplies available to me that the professional artists do. I don't have a team working with me so that I can pass off the parts that are my weaker areas to other people with different artistic skills than me. I also have less years of experience, little formal training, and an art style that does not necessarily lend itself to comic books. But I can damn well try. I'm not touching it with a ten foot pole without a request, though. And no, that is not me challenging you to challenge me. I'm just heading off a possible response.

.... arms as big as your waist is never a good look. Actually, those arms don't look like they belong on that body at all.

Although I will give credit, at least the 'outfit' that should really fall off actually looks like it's about to fall off.
