Mouse Guard
Last night [info]kijikun informed me that David Petersen is at SDCC. I need to start going to cons. D: Petersen is the genius responsible for Mouse Guard. As some of you might remember, I'm freaking crazy about this series. Kij was kind enough to offer to send me a sketchbook and some pins. *twirl* For those of you out of the know, the official site actually has a good introduction to the series, including character profiles and original pages for sale.

Here are two pages from the Fall 1152 extras bit, and one page of lush interior art from the same book.

D'aw. And now that we've got the cute out of the way, time for some badassery. Mouse vs Snake:

THE COLOURS! THE COLOURS! (And the pencils, too). OMG I CAN'T STOP TYPING IN ALLCAPS. DO YOU SEE THE AWESOME?!

A few non-lethal traps and some scraps of cloth and you're all set.

They're scratchy. They don't like to wear things! :[

Then switch to lethal traps. I doubt they'd give you trouble then. X)

You could even tie strings around their arms a use them as puppets to recreate scenes. You could also go beyond regular fanfic and make them act out your own stories!

I actually put a neck thingy on an old satin mouse I had. He turned out to be too wiggly to keep it up.

Sadly, my cats tend to grab them whenever they can, and it's a bitch prying a cat's mouth open to save the mousie, who are usually very hurted despite not being bitten or swallowed.
