Golden Age Wonder Woman
These are from Sensation Comics #3, 1942.



I include this because William Moulton Marston, Wonder Woman's creator and the author of her Golden Age adventures, also invented the lie detector test. Though his wasn't a golden lasso.


Women in jail! Already the prison matron is telling Diana she'll look pretty behind bars.


And here's the real culprit! Named after Hitler's girlfriend, no less.




Again, Golden Age Steve Trevor is a swell guy.

OK, but was it common public knowledge? I mean, my general impression of the times was that Hitler was generally seen as just the big, bad bogeyman - few people were interested in his personal details besides the military.

"Eve Brown" after "Eva Braun" is just stretching coincidence too thin. Hitler's life and habits were well publicized even before the US entered the war, although with a lot of distortion... that he was supposedly a former house painter, for example.
