And Superboy Prime literally becomes what he was only represenative of before: a Strawman version of a comic book fanboy.

That's not epic, that's kinda lazy actually. Hell, the use of any strawman is lazy.

I just hope we never see the stereotyped "villain" again.

In any form.

Alexander Luthor and The Earth-2 Superman were Strawmen as well. DC knew many fans just didn't like how gloomy thing were in the DCU, and put those words in the mouths of Alex, Kal-L and Superboy Prime.

So, it was pretty much the villains of INFINITE CRISIS who thought the DCU had to lighten up a little bit. And they were agreeing with the fans.

"That's you! That's how dumb you sound."

Remember, anyone who criticizes Johns or DC Editorial is just like this. Protest all you want, make your silly appeals to "logic" or "fun", they don't care; they know the truth, they've got your number (and their fingers in their ears).

Yeah, it's appallingly juvenile and just dripping with an entitlement complex.

Oh no, there are actully hordes of fans that are actually like Superboy Prime.

And Oh, God, I love Superboy for the very fact it mocks those kinds of fans.
