Seaguy 2: Popular Entertainment

Some of the second SEAGUY mini(which if you haven't read, what's wrong with you?). First, this here is exactly what broadcast TV looks like to me every time I turn it on nowadays.

Next, the glorious cycle of modern consumer capitalism.

I'll also add that Stewart's art in this is a lot looser and all the better for it. DOWN WITH PHOTOREALISM!

I have the same reaction to television, and I'm with you on the photorealism thing as well!

Basically: it's a world where nobody ever dies, heroes are no longer needed, and a Disney-like corporation runs everything and makes sure everyone is "happy," which is to say it treats them both as the consumers and the consumed. Mickey Eye is their mascot.

That's as quick as I can describe that part of it. You should read it, trust me.(it even has a happy ending)

If that wasn't stuff that'd convince you, try this: a bullfight where the point is not to kill the bull, but to convince it of your superior machismo. Which you do by, one piece by another, getting ridiculous women's clothes on the bull. When you get to the high heels, he bows to you and you win.
