Maybe current Pete is Ben, put in his place as some sort of demonic catch in his bargain with the devil?
.............
Good lord. That makes SENSE.
I was just being silly, but now I can't make it not make sense! Noooo!
That's actually something I would accept.
Holy crap. I could totally buy that.
Anything that turns OMD/BND into a swerve, I'm all for it. I'll even take back all the nasty things I've thought and said about the current marvel regime.
Because if this was all a plot to fool us "smart marks" and get genuine heat from us, to set up the payoff of setting everything right... then it's more than just ok. It's fucking brilliant. Genius, even.
I'm still not ready to get my hopes up, though.
Oh, no, wait, I get it!
Quesada erased his own memories to get Loeb--who was closing in on him--off his back, and after a complicated plot including OMD and making Tony a jerk, which gets Quesada in Loeb's good graces, will finally touch the first issue of Ultimate Spider-Man, restoring his true memories and personality, putting him in position to blacklist Loeb forever, and allowing him to create his ideal world where Squirrel Girl has her own series and no one gets cheaply brought back from the dead.
"Just as planned."
(I have no idea if this makes any sense, but Loeb was the first name that came to mind.)
"Just as planned."
Joe Q is Light Yagami?
Seems to me if he's any manga character it's more likely to be Tatewaki Kuno.
Thank you, I just snorted a pretzel shard...
Hey, what did we say about coming up with good ideas?
*sign*...I'll go sit in the corner.
Consider: for a time, Marvel was trying to get the audience to believe that the "real" Peter Parker was Ben Reilly, and that the Pete we'd been reading about since at least 1976 (I think) was really the clone.
It's an amusing thought, but most likely they were just being sloppy and indifferent as usual. "Redhead? Vaguely-Peter looking thing? Slap it in there!"
Sad, but probably true. The firs time I scanned over it, I even mistook the "HEY" for "MJ!" But that's a pretty confusing font.
that would be some brilliant writing |
