All the crap Spidey goes through in his life makes moments like this all the more satisfying.
But then again, Spidey Is still acting like a jerk. I mean, how many heroes did had he fought when they thought he was a bad guy based on what the public said, or even the Daily Bugle?
This is...just...perfect. I've lived up there. The accent is dead on (my last name became Tahbet/Tahbeah up there) and the way the crowd reacts is pretty damn accurate too.
Chowda-head.
Spidah-mahn?
Bahdy-ahmahed?!
This is a accent that calls water fountains "bubblahs," which is very confusing when you move up there in middle school.
I love that dirty wahtuh.

I seriously thought Bahdy-ahmahed was some sort of racist slur and that Spider-Man would be admonishing the crowd for hating on asians.
Why do the people have funny accents?
The MA accent lacks the letter R, just like the Southern accent replaces an "o" sound with a "aw" sound. Like hot dawg.
Boustan, or as sane people call it "Boston."
It's an even more iconic USA accent than Neyw Yawk and da Deep Sout'th.
Is it just me or did the beginning of this comic sounded a lot like how Geoff Johns starts off his comics?
The best part of this is I've lived in MA my whole life and I still can't understand the accent sometimes. Especially when my sister is talking.
The only thing that could have made his appearance more perfect would be if he prevented a MBTA train accident...
"You there! Driving this train! Stop Twittering this instant!"
Seriously. Their Union is fighting the mobil phone ban, can you believe it ????
As a Bostonian, I approve. We would totally dig Spider-Man.
Took me forever to figure out what the sprock 'bahdy-ahmahed' meant... I assume it's 'Body-armoured', but I kept pronouncing it 'bawdy a ma head', and couldn't figure out what that would translate to. (Personally, I'd have written it as 'ahmah'd' to avoid that.)
haha, I was pronouncing it the exact same way I thought that they were saying some Middle Eastern name or something

Jeter Sucks!
A question that I might regret: Who or what is Jeter, and why does he/she/it suck?

Derek Jeter, shortstop for the New York Yankees, the arch rivals of the Boston Red Sox. He sucks, I assume, because he plays for the Yankees.
Yeah, it's a spinoff of the more infamous "Yankees Suck" chant that occurs a lot at the Sox games regardless of who the Sox are playing (heck we used to chant at my college hockey games).

ok, this may be a stupid question, but it has been on my mind for a while.
Spider-man is wanted by the government for not disclosing his secret identity (since the demonic pact I mean), yet in the Obama issue Obama says he's doing great.
Why doesn't obama just give him a presidential pardon? it is well within his rights and authorities to do so.
is that actually accurate? I mean we know his identity is now hidden again, but I thought the press conference still happened. Spidey should actually still be registered. His crimes should be refusing to follwo orders, aiding and abetting and if they're military enough he might be considered AWOL.
You know, if they really wanted to give Spidey a "Brand New Day," they should have had him move to Boston. Total change in public attitude, and think of all the local heroes and villains he could team up and/or fight with. Plus a new supporting cast and job. (And please, don't have him work as a lowly newspaper photographer. He's a genius scientist, give him a science-related job. Like police forensic examiner.)
Boston is chock-full of biochemistry and genetics research-- it be pretty interesting to have him get a job at a genetics lab and have him start running experiments on himself to figure out something ~amazing~ about his spider-powers.
I'd like to know exactly how his spider-sense works. Is it psychic in nature or what? Yet it can interact with with machines, like the spider-tracers, and Iron Man was able to block and influence the spider-sense during Civil War.
It's a form of precognition that emulates certain spider's heightened senses, though during the Other he seemed to shift to the heightened senses more than it seemed to be precognition.
This needs to be written.
Huh. This is a very good idea.
And it would be so painless to undo, too! If writers got tired of it/fouled the setting/whatever, he could just move back. In the mean time he could always find excuses to visit NYC now and again.
Really, he could be moved pretty much anywhere with skyscrapers.
Well the accent is close but a true Bostonian would say "give him a wicked pissa beat down.
And is it just me or does the Sox fan in the second panel look like Ben Affleck?
It totally is Ben Affleck.

Totally. I work with and am friends with enough Bostonians to confirm this.
I just moved up to Boston from Iowa last month and I really didn't believe the accent was that pronounced...Until I got here...
OK, quick question - who is the 'chowda-head' in question that Spidey's fighting? I don't recognize him. Is he supposed to be a Bostonian who we haven't seen before? And YAAAY, crowds cheering for Spidey! He should totally move to Boston, and announce it publicly before he did, so that Mayor Jonah would have an attack of apoplexy.
I wonder if Boston would hate Spidey if he ruin a Sox game during a villian fight like in 24/7. Maybe they would be more understanding of the sitation compare to the MU New york ungrateful douchebag. Damn I hate MU citizens, if realism apply, Spidey been on the scene for more than a decade or close, you figure that he would be accepted and less hated, the beginning I understand snice people don't know who he is or his motives and the Bugle might be in the heigh of its popularity but man. Michline, Conway, Defalco, and Dematteies stories in the 90s had the Spidey with a not so bad public opinion and he got along pretty well with the police. I wonder what happened.
I remember a spiderman story by steven grant where JJJ got so mad that people took the Bugle as a joke and read it for laughs. It shows a good change that people are siding with Spidey.
one thing that movies got it right, the first 2 movies, Spidey not that well liked with the exception of a train full of people defending him from Doc Ock, the the trilogy, Spidey is accepted and liked by the general public.
Marvel just keep using the same anti-mutant hate and the same Spidey hate because they just love to add more drama and crap for our hero.
It could a lecture on geopolitical shifts over the last 50 years and there would still be a audience member yelling, "Jeter Sucks!"
