Drafted One Hundred Days One Shot .
Humanity has repulsed the first wave of alien invaders-but the battle has left much of America in shambles. As the coldest winter in a century assaults the starving, shell-shocked populace, it falls to a former U.S. Senator to rally a small construction unit in the frozen, haunted remains of Chicago.

Presidential fanfiction. When does it end? I like my leaders to be less...messiah like.
I have to agree. This is getting a little out of hand.
It got "a little out of hand" when they decided to make a comic out of their new dog. We've decended to sheer WTFery, now. I forgot what web-comic it was, but it was right--at this point, we just need Obama to passionately make out with his stem-cell clone for it to be complete.
Oh God, now I can't get that out of my head. Due to the internet being what it is, about ten seconds with Google will find you porn of it.
That's utterly untrue. I've never found Wesley Crusher porn.
Yeah, that's kinda odd. I'm sure I saw something back on greyarchive a few years back where the main cast is left on some planet, and the women have to have sex or they'll die.
...You know, put like that, it doesn't sound too far off from a normal TNG episode.
I have definitely, definitely read Picard/Wesley. Riker may have been there too. And no I was not looking for that!
Don't worry, the first fanfic I'd ever read was Gundam Wing, and it was Duo/Deathscythe. Man was I friggen confused.
To clarify for some, that's the long haired pilot and his giant freakin' mecha.
my first was bad, I've never gone looking for the stuff but it was linked off of one those portal web sites with links to retarded things.
Garfield and pookie.
'Surprise!' said Riker as he boned young Wesley up the ass.
..Is that a quotation?
Because it sounds VERY FAMILIAR.
... First recorded incidence of Surprise Buttsecks?
If reading his blog isn't porn enough for you, you just aren't a true Wil Wheaton fan.
uhm, I did. him and Riker, I think.
OH
This is to do with Obama?
Well i completely missed that! I thought it seemed quite interesting, if a bit melodramatic.
Considering his likeness is on the cover . . . .
But the cover isn't in the post! And I didn't recognise the title. :/
Well, yes, it would have been, except that I had no reason to think "oh what if Obama is in this comic, I should google the title to check if he is on the cover"?
Also, it's not unheard of for comic artists to lean heavily on celebrity likenesses when drawing characters, so even if I had checked I might just have thought "they made the heroic african-american politician look like obama, how creative".
But LUCKILY, someone mentioned that is was indeed Mr Obama, and so the light was shown to me without any googling or supposition necessary. Lucky me!
Okay. Equal time for ridiculous political comic books.

If someone wants to post "Liberality for All" scans, I'd enjoy it.
(Hopefully in a way that wouldn't involve anyone spending money on "Liberality for All". That would make Baby Jesus cry.)
Democrat as I am (or would be if I were an American), I have to agree this is more than a bit much. The Conan parody at least was over-the-top enough that we could laugh with it, 'cause, y'know, Conan. I like Obama and think he's doing admirably so far, but he's not Christ or Maitreya or Mashiach or whomever.
As for the question that's been raised as to why we don't see conservatives putting out similar comics, I'd guess that's because a credible alternative to Obama has yet to emerge. Although I don't have surveys to back me up, I'd wager few Republicans really want Palin as the next president because whatever moral authority she once had and whatever confidence she once inspired are spent.

It is 2021, tomorrow is the 20th anniversary of 9/11. America is under oppression by ultra-liberal extremists which have yielded governing authority to the United Nations. It is up to an underground conservative group (known as F.O.I.L.) led by Sean Hannity, G. Gordon Liddy and Oliver North to thwart Ambassador Usama Bin Laden’s plans to nuke New York City.
"...under oppression by ultra-liberal extremists"? WHAT?! That just plain doesn't make SENSE, even by right-wing crazy standards. Oppression is what the 'ultra-liberal extremists' come out in droves AGAINST - if ultra-liberal extremists were in charge, I someone don't think that a police state - even a UN police state - would be the first thing they'd come up with.

The whole "UN takes over" scenario is reminiscent of Left Behind, not to mention the writings of "New World Order" conspiracy kooks,
*sighs* I suppose I'm always doing myself a disservice by underestimating these people. The human capacity for balderdash is limitless.
Ahem:

The irony of calling themselves Comics Collective is hilarious.
And the idea of G. Gordon Liddy--who, in addition to being a Watergate crook, recommended on his 1990s radio program that if the feds come for your guns you should shoot them in the head--being a saviour of America is fucking terrifying.
This IS too much.
And the Republicans certainly don't want Palin. Some fringe party may go crazy for her, but plenty of basic, everyday Republicans (I'm a Democrat, myself, problematic as we are) were appalled with her originally--as you probably know, she was chosen to appeal to the religious right, not mainstream conservatives--and yes. She's never going to be on another Republican ticket.
It's too bad Obama isn't gay, because a lot of guys seem to want to give him blowjobs...
And he gives reacharounds.
Yeah, OK, this is going a little far now. I like to think that it's kind of a tribute to the one US president who is actually a comic book fan, but really, enough's enough.
Eh, I think even his comic book love is grossly exaggerated. So he used to buy Spiderman comics when he was a kid. Who the hell didn't? It's not like he has a stack of Y: The Last Man in the Oval Office or anything like that.
Recently, when John Hodgman quizzed him, he couldn't even remember Crom's name. CROM!
Well, the guy DOES have a lot of things on his mind - if I became president, I'd be so frazzled that I wouldn't be able to answer you if you asked me what Spider-Man's real name was.
I didn't read the text, but judging from the pictures I thought it was a parody of the end of the Watchmen movie. |
