Proud and insolent youth, prepare to meet thy doom.
I love Avengers: Fairy Tales in so many ways, but by far, my favorite thing about the miniseries is Claire Wendling's gorgeous art on the covers.

ETA: Added four assorted pages from the Peter Pan story, because it had my favorite of the art styles.

I liked Avengers Fairy Tales too.

The covers were gorgeous.

Plus, Steve as Peter Pan? So much Motto!

The casting choices in this series were frikkin' awesome. If they ever decided to do another set, I'd totally buy, as long as the lady Wendling was still doing the covers.

Because I'm totally not a Marvel person -- Who are the characters on the Alice cover?

These are gorgeous. ♥

I'm not a Marvel person either, but god the covers on this make me want to buy it - is the inside anywhere near as good?

Each of the issues has a different inside artist. I wasn't all that sold on the Alice one, but the Peter Pan one was really good.

I think that's Tigra as the Cheshire Cat and Cassie Lang (Stature) as Alice.

Damn Cheshire Cat looks nothing like Tigra.

I have to admit to not being overly keen on the Wizard of Oz and the Pinocchio stories, but the other two... Wow. The casting and the story telling just makes my heart go to the happy place and never want to leave.

The cover art is beautiful for all four of the issues though, and I love the art-nouveau feel of the Peter Pan cover.

If you liked Claire Wendling's art, and can read French, I can't recommend enough Les Lumières del'Amalou (http://www.bedetheque.com/serie-184-BD-Lumieres-de-l-Amalou-%28Les%29.html).

Very nice little story, gorgeous art.

Wow, that's some lovely art.

I am amused that a Fairy Tales mini-series contains homages to four stories, none of which a fairy tale. (Well, Pinochio might count.)

O Marvel,
Please make more comics with that much kinder art style.
It would make me so happy.

Greenmask.

Steve as Peter Pan. OMG. That alone makes me want to buy this. Can I get them all as a trade, and if so, will the book simply say "Avengers: Fairy Tales" on the cover (which would make it infinitely easier to find in or special order to a store than if there is no trade)?

X-Men Fairy Tales (which I didn't like much) and Spider-Man Fairy Tales (which is excellent) are both out in trade, but Avengers isn't yet.

I think I borrowed Spider-Man Fairy Tales from the local library a few months ago, come to think of it. That was amazingly awesome. Clearly, I must find the Avengers one somewhere, be it library or book store, once there is a trade of it.
