I think this might be the same issue where where the tape deal is a setup for her to worry about her beautiful, beautiful eyelashes. Because she's strong enough to untape her eyes using her fabulous eyelid muscles, but feminine vanity stops her from doing so.

Or maybe that's a different story. Maybe Marsten just really liked tape.
