And yet the weirdest thing to me is Cap smoking the pipe. So weird.

Sherlock Holmes' pipe at that.

Not as weird as Cap straight-up cold-cocking someone because they 'look' like a Fifth Columnist. Racial profiling, Steve? Tsk tsk.

No no, it was the monocle. Sure-fire way of spotting a fifth columnist.

I love the way that, as far as I can tell from the scans, that never comes up again. The guy was just passing through.

Oh, curses Ratzis!

I would like to see them stay and straighten out Paris, though.

Seems pretty selfish not to go back and do it, since it was only their hurry to get to Germany that stopped them sorting it out before. Or maybe they forgot.

I like the implication that Steve has a corset and a set of women's clothes, including what seem to be a high-heeled version of his boots, just sitting around in his tent.

...I wish there was an earlier (or later, assuming he kept it, cause we know he did) story where his CO finds his stash of women's clothing and he has to try to explain himself.

This is just so Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, it hurts.

Props to Cap for being man enough to crossdress, and not make Bucky be the one to wear a dress (coughcoughBatmancough). ;-)

Almost lost amidst the cross-dressing is that Captain America can bring a speeding car (a big heavy 1941 sedan at that) to a halt by grabbing its bumper and holding onto a lamppost with his other hand -- and the post bends but he's not hurt.

Whew, the Super-Soldier Serum must have been still fresh in his blood that day.
