Will we see Wade's reaction to the death of his beloved Bea Arthur? I don't suppose even Yelena Belova (Black Widow II) can take her place…

Yes. In an upcoming issue, Deadpool will have a taco-induced hallucination, imagining himself to be in Heaven. He’ll meet Bea, and thank her for being a friend. Together, they’ll travel down a road and back again. He’ll tell her that her heart was true, and that he considers her a pal and a confidant.

For legality, this scene is absolutely appropriate to describe how Wade would feel about this.

Am I the only one who doesn't like Way's run on Deadpool? I guess the depth that Joe Kelly injected into his run has spoiled me for the more shallow authors. :\

It's not perfect (and I could do without the WAKKY!DEADPOOLVISION) but it's not as bad as it could be.

I don't like it either really, I mean I'll read it but it doesn't do anything for me. I just might just get the issue with Bea just because... Well... it's Bea! But other than that unless his writing gets better or I like it I won't be getting the comic.

Kelly, Gail and Fabian had their own different take on Wade and I liked them all but Way's just doesn't do it for me it's like he's crazy but he's missing some of his wit and he comes off as kind of bland.

Also Pool-o-vision, um what?

I wouldn't say Way is shallow, just that he doesn't "get" Deadpool. Sure, he makes the monkey dance with carnage and wisecracks, but what really makes Deapdool more than a fanboy's HURHUR GI JOE IN COMICS is the character stuff (facing impossible moral dilemmas, for instance)

Yeah it'd be nice if we saw more tragic clown aspect. I mean Way does know how to do it -- Wolverine Origins was heartbreaking. "I should be the one out for revenge."

But yet....we haven't seen it in DP's own series yet -- and that's what's missing, IMO. He promises we're going to see it, sooooooo.... *waiting patiently*

I'm with you. The Wolverine Origins story was one of the worst portrayals of Deadpool I've seen (only dwarfed by Palmiotti's Cruel Summer, and Liefeld's days...), and I was devastated when I heard Way was gonna do the ongoing.

Now, to be fair, it's not nearly as bad as I expected, and while it's nowhere near up to C&D levels yet, it's getting better. Just kill the double personality and hallucination things and we'll be good.

BUT I STILL WANT MY AGENCY X ONGOING, GOD DAMMIT.

I'll defintily be picking it up. I thought Way was mediocre at first, but I picked up the latest issue last week and I think he's gotten better. He's still no Nicieza or Simone, but who is?

And Merc with a Mouth is going to be an ongoing instead of a mini? SWEEEEEEEET. I have such high hopes for that title.


What's up with that preview pic? Deadpool #900??? The art's really... weird.

Replace "weird" with "horrific", and yes I agree. Does it look like the artist, for some panels, has taken photos and messed around with them in Photoshop to create the backgrounds, or am I imagining things? God Marvel, stop hiring these people >:(

Yeah... let's see...circa 97 there was this title called Deadpool and it was written by this guy Joe Kelly.... and there was this Mithras thingy....
