X-Men: Divided We Stand #1: Home
From X-Men: Divided We Stand #1, I bring you the only story in the bunch that I find continues to stand up well: Nezheno's story, "Home". I find that this character has seriously grown on me.

8 scans (which should come in under the limit, since the issue is oversized), not particularly dial-up friendly.

This and the Beast story were really the only good things to come out of Divided We Stand.

Everything else was... unfortunate.

Surely the Anole story was decent? We don't get nearly enough PTSD references in the X-family,

I personally didn't care for it. Victor was the only one of the New X-men kids who was well adjusted and level headed, he was a good leader who didn't freak out when things got bad. He had the least amount of emotional baggage and in that story we got this huge abrupt change in the character and out of nowhere the kid got all of these issues and symptoms that he didn't exhibit before.

He became so unreasonable and he started hating and blaming the X-men for so much, he even attacked Northstar, his friend and mentor, for trying to help him.

The New X-men did need a PTSD story, they literally went through hell, but it shouldn't have been Anole. It went against pretty all past characterization he had before it.

But since Marvel did go the PTSD route with him, they should have followed through. They shouldn't have put him back out on the front lines in Young X-men, because really how is adding someone who has PTSD and trust issues with the X-men to an already fragile team structure a good idea?

Ever since this Divided We Stand story my opinion of Anole has been on a downhill slope, I find myself liking him less and less.

It was shitty Northstar characterization too. The idea that someone who'd actually been a street kid for a while would just let Victor run away from parents who genuinely cared for him was pretty lame, not to mention that the writer had him spouting lame platitudes that made absolutely no sense coming from someone who'd walked away from the spandex lifestyle several times himself.

Good idea at the heart of it, but the execution was lacking.

Hey DorkSideFiker, could you please take down just one scan? I was planning on posting the Anole post after talking about it on No Scans Daily, and I've already got the pages lined up, but if I post 5 pages I'd put it over the limit =[ . I totally understand if you don't want to, in which case just delete this comment, but I'd really appreciate it if you could!

*pooouuuut* But they're all so pretty and I wouldn't even know which one to cut. *wibble*

Okay, all kidding aside, I'll pick one and take it down as soon as I get a few minutes.

Wow, but the ordinary people in the MU are dicks.

Can we get a 'civilian dickery' tag?

Well, remember that the whole point of mutant-phobia in the X-Men is that there is "a world that fears and hates them", so this is hardly news.

They do seem to have a lot in common with Kryptonians.

Has it been established in the main Marvel U that the father carries the mutation? If so, someone needs a lesson in genetics. (It's a minor thing, and I'm more than fine with hand waving, but there are some hand waves that are entirely unnecessary).

In the MU it can come from either side I believe, but given Wakandan tech, they might have isolated the X-gene in Rozhenkos's case down to the father contribution.

I tend to think of it more along the lines of they're more willing to blame anything wrong with Nezhno on his outsider father than on his mother.

Man, this art is gorgeous!

Also, Pixie continues to be adorable.

Also also, it's nice to see Black Panther being a relatively normal person instead of THE ALMIGHTY BLACK GOD OF THE MARVEL UNIVERSE.

*still grumpy over Hudlin!Panther*

Now we have Blue Marvel to be Super Blackman.

I demand a Superman/Batman type relationship for these two!

Well geez, lady, if you don't like Outsiders so much then maybe you shouldn't have had a kid with one. O_o;

That said, the art is so effin' PRETTY. :O

This may ever so slightly darken the leather but it will only darken it gradually and keep the color even all over the louis vuitton purses . You do not want the tops of the handles to be dark and the rest of the lv Belts leather to be very light. The Louis Vuitton Suhali Leather (the brown checks) is trimmed with more durable leather. This leather can actually be wiped with a damp cloth and it should not change color over time. Your Authentic or louis vuitton damier canvas is an investment.
