One Perfect Moment: Nyssa
While the time she killed her father and took over the League of Assassins was pretty cool, Nyssa's One Perfect Moment is when she tries to talk Cassandra Cain out of being so dependent on Batman's way of doing things.

Oh, and this Nyssa is Ra's Al Ghul's daughter, not The Doctor's companion (the youngest companion so far). That Nyssa's perfect moment was deciding to stay on Terminus to help the people there and turn it into a working hospital. She even kissed (!) the Doctor good-bye.

Nyssa has kidnapped Batgirl during Infinite Crisis and tries the whole "join me" bit. Of course, Nyssa's idea is that if Batgirl helps, the world will become a better place. By killing all the superheroes. Kind of like WANTED, only they didn't bother making the world a better place.

Pop Mhan did this artwork. He also did the art for Spyboy.

I really like this scene. Nyssa is making a good if warped point about how a superhero can really make the world a better place beyond just beating up criminals. Nyssa was tortured by Dr. Josef Mengele, which explains a lot about her "I wish someone had killed Hitler, Stalin and Amin" POV.

This scene and the final storyline in Batgirl could be why Cass decided to go evil in ROBIN #150. Her going "Punisher lite" could have made sense without Deathstroke Insanity Serum if this was brought into the equation.

I've long thought that Cassandra would make a great "good ninja" character, someone who uses targeted assassinations of the worst of the worst for the greater good. Not an indiscriminate killer, not a "wipe them all out" type like the Punisher, but someone who can use surgical strikes to make a difference. And this is a perfect rationale as to why.

except her origin, at least the way most people want her origin to be, makes it so she can't even stand to kill people.

I'm totally for killing the worst of the worst, but I think that this would be disasterous for Cass for 3 reasons:

1. Like jlbarnett said, killing is repulsive to her (even though some writers conveniently forget that from time to time)

2. Even though killing horrible monsters like the Joker is a sensible thing to do, pretty much everyone in the DC universe would instantly condemn Cass. In the DC universe, killing usually = bad, so writers would probably make Cass out to be misguided and morally wrong. I'm next to positive that if Cass took this route, DC would completely trash her as a character.

3. I really, really, really want Cass to keep being Batgirl :)

1. Repulsive to her if she isn't ripped on Deathstroke's Insanity Serum.

2. Meaning DC *hasn't* completely trashed her character? Yes, they've bent over backwards to improve/redeem Cassandra after the FanRage over ROBIN #150, but it seems to be too little, too late.

3. Many of us would, but for some odd reason they keep assigning Adam Beechan to write her. It's rapidly becoming a "kill her out of love" situation.

By the way, how does that outfit work? Is it glued to her? Some of the panels look ok, with the chain holding it together, but some make the whole thing open in the front and there's just no way she's not falling out of that.

Double-sided tape? Double-sided duct tape? Whatever is also stopping Power Girl's peek-a-boo top from shifting two centimeters to either side, and keeping Black Canary's assets safely inside her strapless one-piece as she's doing back flips. Given the typical fashion choices of heroines in comics, one would expect more wardrobe malfunctions.

I'm pretty sure that it's double sided duct tape

They actually *make* tape just for clothes like that:

Well, yeah, but it's not strong enough to tape ducts with.

Speaking of duct tape, funny story. My very first convention, my friends and I were coming back to the room we were sharing when we heard the most agonized shriek of pain imaginable. It was coming from a girl who'd used duct tape to flatten her boobs so she could play a boy. Without wearing a bra or bandages or anything between the tape and her skin.

PGirl is fine so long as the oval is relatively small, especially if she's wearing something nice and supportive under it. Also, bulletproof skin might mean she shifts around less than us fragile skinned mortals.

I always figure that thing Canary is wearing is a has a built in corset / bustiere type thingy.

But this? She should be nipping out all over the place. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, but it's a fact. Unless that puppy is glued to her, it's not staying put.

Okay, the art? Amazing. Simple, distinctive, comic book. Like a mix between Bachalo and Coipel, though not as distinctive as either. Who is the artist?

She's like her father; I think Ra's did something similar (or at least was planning it) with Hitler.

Sarah "Nyssa" Sutton was only the youngest FEMALE companion. Matthew "Adric" Waterhouse was born exactly a week after she was, and became a companion a year before she did, making him the youngest overall.

I always hated the fact that this artist swapped Nyssa's assortment of simple, practical outfits (as seen in Batman: Death and the Maidens) for that ludicrous hand-me-down from her father.
