I'll buy it, at least to check it out. The art looks awesome! I LOVE when a comic evokes an atmosphere, and, not being a female, I have as little problem with an unrealistic costume for women as I do with unrealistic costumes for men. It's fantasy, after all. As for Kate not having Bats' permission, the interview does seem to imply that Kate has a reason for wearing the Bat, so maybe (fingers crossed) she might be following in KATHY'S footsteps? That might involve the tragedy as well. The military thing? I hope she isn't based on a current policy like DADT. It's like tying Wonder Woman to WWII, or any number of characters to the Cold War. No elasticity for age/origin. And while I'm glad she's gay, as there are almost no writers who can supply a decent romantic straight attachment for a title heroine, and she won't require anyone even try, I kind of hate the smugness with which DC seems to state "You've got your GAY mainstream character now. Be happy." , ignoring the percentage of us who happen to be the more problematic, in terms of writing, gay males. Speaking solely for me, Gay Batwoman is far less interesting than Gay Nightwing would be (After all, that gig's open now, as well.)...YMMV.
