Of course, you know that in that last panel Bruce is thinking, "Well, crap. After all the trouble I took to synthesize a ring of fake Kryptonite to fool him into thinking I actually gave up my one edge... what a tool."

Remember in a more recent BM/SM issue, Superman goes all around the world and destroys every bit of kryptonite he can get his hands on except for one single piece that he entrusts to Batman in a grand gesture...and then later we see Batman depositing it in a vault that contains kryptonite samples of every colour in the rainbow. I LOLed, I really did.

green, blue and gold. That's the only Kryptonite anyone in the world has any reason to have. Having Red Kryptonite is stupid. White isn't dangerous to Kryptonians.

In fact with gold the reason for having green disappears.

And frankly I think Superman's allies should use red sun projectors

Isn't white kryptonite the plant-killing kind?

Bruce is probably saving some of that in case he needs it against Poison Ivy/Swamp Thing/Solomon Grundy/ etc.

Batman collects superhero-y and supervillain-y stuff all the time, the Batcave is practically a museum. I can easily see him keeping Red and White as well because he Gotta Catch 'Em All!

But I swear he had pink, purple and white too! And I didn't even know pink and white even existed!

Pink kryptonite totally exists. In canon. Lookie! (previously from Superdickery, not sure of the original comic number; please, please let this work properly -_-U)

Fuck! How does one go about inserting the image and not just its URL? *headdesk* Well, it should still work if you click it.

That's fantastic :D

I've never seen that scene, could anybody post it?

It's that story where they watch a "World's Finest" movie of them being made. Superman thinks it's hysterical and Batman scowls that it's embarrassing.

In retrospect, I really MUST own this.

I think it might have been in "K", #44 - #49.

I'm not sure how much I buy the "You have me at a disadvantage" thing. It's not like Clark couldn't turn Bruce's head into a fine red mist before he could even get his hands on the Kryptonite, let alone bring it into play.

Kinda takes away from the "trump card" aspect when the guy you're using it against knows you've got it and there's about sixteen billion ways he can keep you from using it.

Sorry, but that's always bugged me.

Well, if you apply real tactics to superpowered beings, you end up with the Flash winning everything. Everything EVER.

If you don't have superspeed, he can beat you before you even know he's moving. If you do have superspeed, he's still faster than you are. If you have superspeed and are *almost* invulnerable (like, say, Superman), a punch moving at .9999999 lightspeed will still take you out. Force equals mass times acceleration. The Flash could destroy cities with pebbles if he threw hard enough. And again, he's the Fastest Man Alive - so you can't dodge them.

Basically, if the Flash knows you're gunning for him, you're done. You can kill him if you make an undetected first strike, but if he knows it's on? GAME OVER.

Where is the Flash's top speed listed? 'Cause I don't remember anywhere saying he can move at .9999999c.

At a velocity of .9999999c, assuming my calculations are correct, he would be experiencing 2236.068 times as much time as the rest of the world due to relatavistic time dilation. That means that if he maintained that speed for one day, he would age six years. Which means that even if his lifespan was, say, 100 years, that entire lifetime would be eaten up in sixteen days of uber-superspeed. So, yes, Flash could potentially pwn all given those sorts of maximum speeds, but using that for sufficiently long time periods would kill him. I imagine that sort of speed would be reserved for absolute emergencies, even if he can reach that sort of top speed. [/physics major relativity rant, ignore if it annoys you]

That being said, superspeed is an awesome superpower for crimefighting. Probably hella obnoxious for its holders, though, since slowing to normal human speeds would be an inexact process, and they would always be moving just a little faster than the rest of the population. Not enough to prevent a fairly normal life, but enough to make it feel like everyone else was moving in slo-mo, and potentially make people think you're severely ADHD and/or dangerously over-caffeinated.

He can run fast enough to travel through time and dimensional space and so forth, and I believe lightspeed is the given threshold for that. There's an issue of JLA where they go off to Rann to save the day from an evil space invasion and Wally loans Superman enough speed to outrace a Zeta Beam. As for time dilation, I have three words for you...

THE SPEED FORCE.

Any time anybody brings real physics into the Flash family discussion, the answer is THE SPEED FORCE. Your puny human fizuks mean nothing here!

(And no the THE SPEED FORCE is not magic, it is totally different and betterer and scientifical like unstable molecules and the Phantom Zone. So there. Nyah nyah nyah.)

ps- I have no annoyance with the fizuks majors or the relativity. Science is fun! It just doesn't apply here. (Now I am tempted to work the Speed Force into Creationism somehow...)

OK. I'll acknowledge that the Speed Force may allow its users to operate under an altered set of physical laws by its nature. However, I'd like to point out that insufficiently understood science is indistinguishable from magic. Just try and prove beyond a shadow of doubt that the Speed Force isn't magic. (Seriously. The same laws of physics apply in all reference frames, including super speed, unless you start getting into quantum mechanics or string theory, which aren't really applicable here I don't think. The Phantom Zone, on the other hand, can be described as being another four-dimensional finite closed universe, as ours is sometimes theorized to be, parallel to the standard DCU and accessible only through fifth-dimensional space with the aid of certain machines. Unstable molecules probably involves quantum mechanics.) Nyah nyah nyah... ;P

Yeah, let's give the one thing that might stop Superman to a person who could never beat Superman. But since it's Batman, everyone thinks it's perfectly fine and feel relieved. Batman, as you can see in that last panel, thinks it's a crock of shit.

Oh Clark. I know you're thinking this is a grand act of trust and whatnot but he's already worked something out with, like, the entire magic community.
