heya, first post, let me know if I'm doing this wrong.

...yeah, you've seen it, but it always bears reposting.

from the Spidey/Nightcrawler Marvel Team-Up, issue 89.
This is Nightcrawler at his core- a little self-deprecating, but overall a fun-loving guy. Several times writers have had to scrape the general angst off of his character because too many others find it easy to slowly pile it on him, especially when teamed with the main X-Men groups. It's not that this is a terrible thing; no one can be all fun all the time, but I am always happier to see him reestablished as the swashbuckler.

The nameless mooks will simply keel over, their hearts exploding from the sudden wave of inexorable manliness of Barechested Fury as he smashes through the wall straddling his Ramrod. Even the big bad is all, "What the hell, man? WHAT THE HELL?" Fury will shoot him in the face then ride back out (through a different wall) with the unconscious woman draped over his lap.

I came back and looked at this again, and I figured it out guys. We are all so, so wrong.

See, that guys not holding a weapon. Its a key. Its the key to the chastity belt he's wearing. And that woman? She's not hurt. She's offering herself to him in the way a woman does to a courageous man who has earned her affection. But Nick Fury won't stand for that, 'cuz he's gotta tap that first, while its still fresh.

	There isn't one, </i>Marvel >:(</i>. And the trade this issue was collected in is out of print and had really bad re-coloring. This is one of those times where piracy is really your best option. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

The worst part is, Marvel's probably a little hesitant to put any more Steranko work out in trade, because when they put out the two Nick Fury trades, they tried to exploit a loophole that would allow them to not pay him any royalties. Because, you know, it's not like his name is the primary draw of the book.

Suffice to say, Steranko found out and got royally pissed off. They did eventually agree to pay him, but they didn't consult him about the design or the recoloring or anything, so it's basically not worth it.
