Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:char: captain britain/brian braddock, char: meggan puceanu, char: shadowcat/kitty pryde, creator: alan davis, creator: chris claremont, group: excalibur, title: excalibur

All of the boys and all of the girls are looking to If You Seek Kitty
Selected scenes from Excalibur of Kitty Pryde being lesbian catnip (ha, I'm so funny!) with bonus Captain Britain bondage. And I do mean bondage. I really can't overemphasize that.

Speaks for itself, really.

So Meggan turns evil and says that Furry!Kitty -- hmm, Kitty, Nightcrawler, I'm beginning to sense a pattern -- can "take Brian's place" at her feet. But what was Brian doing at her feet?

I... see...

And in case you can't tell, Evil!Meggan has Bride of Frankenstein hair and fishnet bodystockings. It's good to know even as a villain she's still ADSDSASFADG!

Ok, as someone who never experienced it first hand... I hear people talking about how amazing Excalibur was... And when i see scans it either looks A) Really cracky B) really skeevy or C) Both at the same time.

Does it get tons better if you actually read it in sequence or something? Because I'm not seeing the Love here.

I dunno, that combo alone could make it one of the most awesome things around...

Though I haven't got my chance to read the whole lot yet, so the sentiment could change...

Yes.

And it was usually just funny (intentionally), with occasional cracky (unintentionally), and a few moments of skeevy (both intentional and unintentional).

It was. That was a good chunk of the fun. It was, in so many ways, the anti-X-book: Fun and 75% Angst-Free. Then Alan Davis left and it turned into "X-Men London" damn near overnight.

It really does inprove with full context and in sequence.

Goodness yes.

Keep in mind that Excalibur was light fun adventure in a time when X-Men were angstier than ever (and for X, that's saying a lot)

That isn't even a _tenth_ of the LesYay Kitty went through in Excalibur. The Girl School alone...

Ah, Claremont, will you ever have enough of bondage, hero-mindfucked-into-villain and transformation fetish stuff?

To be fair, that was probably the single most justified occasion for that fetish to surface given how Meg's powers work and her lack of control over them at the time -- one of the reasons I though the MI 13 Annual was so much crap with a couple of gems.

It's like Cornell ignored everything from at least the Ellis run onwards when Meg was in pretty much absolute control over her powers and herself.

She also really really should have shown up in Exiles and not Hell given how House of M ended.

Ah, Excalibur how I miss your utterly awesome yet cracky pages. I totally loved this book at an age where I missed about 90% of the crack. Also, I totally shipped Kitty/Rachel back then.
