The Goblin and the Crime-Master

I was actually planning on posting this as part of one of my later posts (which you'll see soon) but I thought that overall it didn't fit.

Here's a scene from Amazing Spider-Man #26 written by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko.

Of course, this was written before Norman Osborn was revealed to be the Green Goblin. So in retrospect, was it out of character for Norman to give his identity away to someone he didn't truly trust? Kurt Busiek and Roger Stern thought so, as seen in this scene from Untold Tales of Spider-Man #25...

Now there's the Norman we all know and love.

Now here's the question:

Does Osborn go around as the Goblin wearing a JJJ mask under his Goblin mask all the time?

Now I'd love to see Peter come in with pictures of Spidey fighting Goblin wearing his Jameson Mask, or better yet; stealing the Jameson mask and wearing it himself, just to mess with Jonah's head.

"The Green Goblin doesn't have to resort to murder!"

Ah, those were the days.

Well that was before the formula made him insane. But again madness always claimed those Green Goblins, NEVER did they claim the Hobgoblin!

I liked the Crime-Master - I think it's a shame that he never went anywhere. True, he was a little underpowered for a Spidey villain, but he had an interesting look, and it's always good to have a few villains who are more of a behind-the-scenes manipulator than an actual physical threat. Not much has been done with just ordinary crooks in Spider-Man - since the good ol' days, it's been primarily supervillains. It'd be interesting to have a villain whose main resource was his skill at organizing the underworld around himself.

Like the Rose or Fortunato. Non-powered ppl who run things. A few more would be nice. Preferably someone with a fun persona though. Mr Jeff Jeffrey "The Jeff" Jefferson, ordinary Crimeboss might be boring. Give them some flare or a hook. Oh hey make it a woman too! Not that that's a "hook", but we need some more mobster ladies in our lives. Well... not in our real lives.

Yeah, the Rose is cool, too! He's got a pretty neat look, plus the 'cultured, supercilious villain' thing never really gets old. Shame he hasn't been around lately.
And I wouldn't mind a few mobster ladies in my real life - as long as I stayed on their good side, that is.
