Runaways #10

CBR has a preview of Runaways #10 up.

Seriously, if you're a mutant how annoying must that be?

They're going to have so much fun making the birth scene fit a whatever-rating-they're-going-under-R. (Or so I heard.)

I know. But if they're faithful to what I hear is in the book for that scene, it'll be fun when the parents of all these twelve-year-old girls will see it, and realize just how messed up the books are.

Heh. I'm reminded of a few weeks back when I mentioned it to my mother, who I thought I'd told about that before. The shock and disgust on her face as she asked whether or not I was joking was priceless.

I love telling people about it, because every time I go "Oh, and you know what ELSE?!" it just gets worse.

I'm genuinely curious to see if the sequels will tone down the more creeptastic elements of the books (like Edward disabling her car so she won't see a boy he doesn't like). Though the first movie kept the "Edward breaking into her room to watch her sleep" bit, so who knows.

What did Alien (with the original chestburster scene) get, back in the day?

We had the photo picture book of that -- that is, telling the entire narrative of the movie using still frames with subtitles -- in my primary school (year 5 & 6) library back in the mid 80s.

Maybe they can hire David Cronenberg to direct it.
