"leader, schemer, deadly warrior and curious explorer"
I think I've said something like the following idea before -- or maybe you've said it before, or maybe we had a discussion on the subject. My memory is SHOT.
...But anyway, since Cheetah's been getting her head handed to her whenever she runs up against Diana lately, she really ought to go digging for a mystic artifact or three to even the odds, and preferably find some way of internalizing the power. Hell, I've thought of one idea for that in the past few minutes.
(Also, I vaguely remember you posting something on the old S_D involving her and a Mesoamerican jaguar-god. Was there an artifact in that plot?)
That neatly fulfills the schemer/explorer/warrior bits -- and a few panels of her human form ensconced in various university libraries doing research would be a nice tie-in to her PhD in archeology. I forget -- was she ever formally exposed as the Cheetah for the non-superhero world to know about? If not -- and assuming nobody linked her to Leavens' death, which I doubt, given the circumstances and her intelligence -- she really ought to have quite a few professional contacts in the field. Even if she WAS exposed, she should still have a few people not willing to break contact.
Can't think of anything relating to the "leader" role, though.
*** "Zoom's really an impossible character to deal with, isn't he? If he can actually move them away so fast that neither Diana nor Wally can see to follow (or stop time, same difference really), there is no way he could ever lose a fight."
Is Dawn (Manitou Raven's wife) still around, or did she die at some point? I know she inherited his power in one of the last JL Elite issues, but I forget if she actually lived through the final issue, let alone the past few years.
Reason I ask is, Manitou got the drop on Wally and paralyzed him with magic back in the Obsidian Age mega-arc of JLA.
(Apologies if this next sentence is a little awkward, but I'm trying to avoid spoiling the bit it discusses for people who haven't read it.)
Then Manitou's teammates ensured Wally wasn't going to be getting back up once the paralysis wore off. Seems to me that Dawn could do something similar to Zoom.
