I'll give it one thing - while this was completely unnecessary, it DID set up a good slam-bang Green Goblin story, which is always good, so at least it wasn't completely useless. And Peter's joy at seeing his beloved aunt alive again and hearing her say his name is pretty touching, having read the previous story. And I like Aunt May, when she's written well, so it's not like this was a complete travesty - you need a few more elements for that. That being said, that line about the rap music is stupid. While Aunt May has occasionally been written as a step or two behind everyone else (for example, the story where she and Gwen Stacy are held hostage by the Sinister Six, and she finds Doc Ock to be perfectly charming but is horrified when Spider-Man shows up), she is NOT just a nattering old biddy. She has a brain in her head. The rap music line is completely out of character.
