Everyone's 5th favorite redheaded DC lesbian!

I love how practical her costume is! The mask looks like it could actually PROTECT her face! The chunky boots are awesome (of course), and I love the armored arm bracers. AND HURRAY FOR A WIG!

This too, is awesome. I like her style.

The cover for 'Tec #855. Gorgeous, of course. I love the coloring.

DC is really forcing me to like Kate now. I haven't liked her previous appearances, but AW8E70TYAW7803 GORGEOUS ART PRACTICAL COSTUME. What do you guys think?

	I love the Batwoman design. But I can't say I like the new look for Kathy. I sort of liked the idea that she was Bruce's counterpart in the fact that she was a socialite who dresses up in a Bat suit. If she had a third persona: Kathy Kane, socialite, with sophisticated style, maybe I'd dig it. Still, I'm totally excited for this!!! (Reply to this) (Thread)

	Whoever this artist is, I love him. Practicality over stripperificness win! I think the whole wig idea's brilliant too. That would really help to hide Kate's identity. I think it's funny that the gauntlets are pretty much Dark Knight inspired! (Reply to this) (Thread)

	I'm not sure I care about the character yet, but the design's not bad-- except maybe for the skin tone. I've seen some porcelain-pale, unfreckled redheads, but "vampire white"? 	Ewww, did she always have those cheesy tattoos and I didn't notice or what? I might be able to overlook the bird but then you have that huge fucking punk star. Ugh. Oh damn.... I'm really disappointed now.

I love this guy's style and I really like what he's done with Renee so was looking forward to this, and the Batwoman sketch is definitely great (though annoying for me as I'm supposed to be going to DragonCon as Batwoman-Also Poison Ivy and Knockout, with my girlfriend going as their girlfriends-and the costume will be the old one) but 'Kathy' is just... wrong.

Personal opinion, of course, and if she were some new character I may even like her look but.. well, I agree with whoever was asking about 'wasn't she called Kate now?' because I always get annoyed when people call her Kathy and have to say 'Noo! Kathy was the OLD Batwoman, the new Batwoman goes by Kate.' And now, they seem to be calling her Kathy again..

I agree with people saying they introduced her as a socialite and should go with that. This is quite a big statement to make but with the alternitive thing I almost feel like they're trying to say 'oh yeah, she's a lesbian so we'd better make her more alternative.'
As a feminine (naturally redheaded) lesbian, I personally loved Kate when she was introduced in 52 because, again I reiterate it's just me being a fangirl but, she's like me!
I'm currently finishing my performing arts degree and just created my entire final project on the perceptions of feminine lesbians. So while they're probably not trying to make her more lesbian by punking her up, to me it almost feels that way, or at least I would prefer she stay the sexy socialite. She fit so well with Renee like that, their differences made them great together. This new Kate looks too much like a teenager.
And weren't her eyes blue before?

Not a fan of the tattoo's either.

	I hate hate hate hate hate batwoman. I offer no explanation. Something about every single thing about her makes me want her to die. 	I like that they're giving her a more definitive personality, but it's a little confusing that it's contradicting her previous characterization...? But this new one is awesome, and I really like the idea of a Bat-Goth. In fact, now that I think about it, that's actually a pretty natural fit (Tim Burton did Batman, so I'm not the only one who's thought of this before). (Reply to this) (Thread)

I like the costume, and don't really have any problem with the KK design (but then, I've never read anything of her in her socialite guise), but I do have two problems...

1: The wig. I thought we established that wigs were inconvenient things for crimefighters to wear back when Black Canary stopped wearing one? Anyway, if her actual hair color is red, why not just grow it out and wear it in a ponytail or something in her civilia identity? A different hairstyle can be very effective in concealing ones identity - I've often come across friends who've changed hairstyles or hair colors since last I saw them, and there is ALWAYS a period of two or three seconds where my brain goes 'what th',,,? Who IS this?'

2: The skin tone. I will grant you that blazing red hair and pale white skin is a very effective contrast, but A: it's been done before, and B: white skin and red lipstick immediately remind me of the Joker or Harley Quinn. It's kind of their visual trademark, and it could be a little jarring to see someone else doing the same thing.
