Olympic minion-tossing

Four scans from Agents of Atlas #3; one humourous, three not so humourous.

Venus tags along with Namora on a salvage operation:

Later...

This series has been pretty good so far, though, two issues into this story, there's still no evidence of any connection between the past and present-day stories.

Also, I had myself psyched for a New Cap appearance, and he only shows up on the last page.

Nice to see Namora as a grieving mother here, and that SOMEONE mourns and memorialises Namorita.

Characters like Namorita, who die senslessly in overblown crossovers, need more detailed mourning. Otherwise, their deaths are truly meaningless.

Agreed. Freakin' Millar, even when Namor got involved in Civil War not a peep was said about Nita. All he cared was that he could kill some young heroes who weren't bein used.

Kee-ripes I am getting sick of Norman being everywhere. It's getting very old very quickly.

I gotta disagree. I love Osborn as the big bad of the Marvel Universe, at least unlike Tony Stark we don't have to pretend that he's a Hero. Since Civil War I haven't felt like the bad guys were important enough. It was the other heroes that where the main threat and a piss poor one at that, and I think that I was rarely executed properly. I mean, how many times did the Mighty Avengers let unregistered go just so that half the hero/ Iron man weren't ass holes. Norman doesn't have that issue.

I'm quite enjoying the revamped Norman; I'd never realized how similar he was to Iron Man in terms of profile, and the current bit is a fresh new spin. I like seeing villains retooled outside their normal range of foes.

Now, him being where he is isn't remotely plausible, but whatever; it's all played fairly satirically.

Also with the whole American Economy thing, Evil, corporate money man runs and ruins the world seems very appropriate and will probably vibe with people better.

I like him as a bad guy, but you're right. They're overusing him way too quickly, and abusing his possibilities. He is not Thanatos fer heavens sake. At least we all know he's a bad guy, right?

I'm starting to 'like' Sentry.

'Like' in the sense that as a tragic, bad guy, stooge he much more interesting then as a useless, good guy, plot speed bump, deus ex machina. Also when Thor (hopefully) kicks his head in it will much more palatable.

So, enlighten me - who, exactly, is this Temugin guy, and how did he get involved with the AoA?

He's the son of the Mandarin; was an Iron Man villain through most of the v.3, when Pops seemed to be dead.

The Atlas Corp. dragon recruited him as a potential successor to Jimmy.

Thinking about how the son of the Mandarin would get back at Osborn makes it all better.

Awww, Nita and Namora. It still breaks my heart that she's gone.

I'm not liking the new artist much. There's something off on the perspective of the faces - it almost looks like Olivetti. But at least there's tangible difference of expression when the characters express different emotions, and that's more than a lot of artists working for Marvel do.

Er...I meant that it breaks my heart that Nita's dead. Way to be unclear, self. Dammit, when will IJ get comment editing?
