Pinocchio, Vampire Slayer
A re-imagining of classic Pinocchio from SLG Publishing.

Five scans out of a 128 page story. The art in this selection isn't really representative of the rest of it, except for the cover. I actually really liked it after a while. It just fits.

And next a scan from Dark Reign - The List - Wolverine, where Marvel Boy proves that he likes to live dangerously.

By keeping a light-nunchaku down his pants.

Also I wanted to include some scans from the Perhapanauts Annual, that's available for downloading from the official site, but since my Acrobat reader apparently can't save pages out of the file I'll just have to link you.

Wolverine's team-ups have reached such a level that they can't be contained in a single universe anymore? Heh, no, actually that's Fantomex. Or Weapon XIII. Another one of the never ending legions of characters to have come from Wolverine's backstory.

Please tell me at some point Pinocchio kills a vampire with his nose?

At least Marvel Boy has the sense to make the energy part of his light-nunchaku the string/chain part and not the handles.

And where did he keep the light nunchacku? From that image it's like he pulled it out of ... oh.

"Nunchacku" means "Hammer" in Kree, oddly enough...

Oh, he does.

These intro pages are quite an accurate recounting of the start of Collodi's novel. But they're a sort of flashback, and the art style changes significantly later in the book.

Well I got it in my head to read the original this year and I say that it is much better than any adaptation so I'm glad that they are useing it.

Marvel Boy has a laser-energised removable double-dong? Words fail!

No wonder Karla was so interested.

For a minute.

All of this was lovely. I especially like the art on the last page (except that Marvel Boy looks a bit too old).

I wish SLG still published Gargoyles.

The Pinocchio comic was fantastic, and Wolverine: The List was a really good tribute to the Morrison-era of early 2000's X-Men. Enjoyed both immensely.

The Pinocchio part is classic - except for the fact that, for reasons best known to itself, my computer wouldn't let me load the second page of it. Still, the rest is great.
