I think Booster is angry at them to hide him being angry at himself, is the point.

Up to a point yes, but the points he raises are valid from a objective position, not just subjective, and are just brushed aside.

Which is pretty much canon elsewhere so it matches up. Few of the heroes feel real guilt over their actions and some those that do aren't able to put it into words in front of Booster. J'onn for example feels guilty for his actions but he's doesn't reach out to Booster. In 52 he laments over this saying that they both bear the guilt over not saving Ted. I sort of wanted him to rage just to have them all stumble over what they could say in return.
