ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN #612: The annoying late-night work call.

Okay, that's just annoying.

This takes place after "Ending Battle," when Manchester Black erased Lex Luthor's memory of Clark Kent being Superman. But Clark didn't know that. I'm not sure in what issue Clark figured "Hey, Lex doesn't know my secret anymore."

"I knew this would be creepy. I'm Batman."

The rest of the issue is a semi-cracky story about a "small town of superheroes" hidden in a Tesseract.

Can someone post the scene between Clark and Lex when Lex knows he is Superman.

I'm pretty sure it was already posted.

That last Batman expression.....It's so "I see you have soiled yourself. This pleases me."

I was thinking of Batman doing Mr. Burns's "Excellent" while tenting his fingertips off panel.

Though I think Clark just said that to make Batman feel good. He knew Bats probably spent more time practicing being scary and creepy through the hologram than developing the tech required create it.

Creepy Bat is creepy

I like this scene especially Clark being all vulnerable and wearing nothing but that robe while Bruce is on full Batman mode.

It's kind of unsettling that Bruce can just pop in and watch Clark whenever he wants to, but then again Clark doesn't really seem to mind (that last bit of exchange with Clark calling it creepy and smiling and Bruce saying "good" squinting, you know something is going on there).

Clark of all people can't complain about Bruce being able to watch him at will. He's got super hearing and nearly unblockable x-ray and telescopic vision. That would be a guy with a gun complaining that his best friend also has a gun.

Clark? Mind? Clark *loves* it when Batman surprises him. Clark's smile looks like it's containing a much bigger one that's threatening to break out. But he knows that if he seems too happy, Bruce'll get all grumpy and never appear in Clark's bedroom in the middle of the night again. Oh. Clark!

I love the 'creepy. Good' exchange. It's totally in character. Bats should use the hologram-sending thing on a few crooks - THAT'D give 'em heart attacks, given that it's already a persistant rumor that Batman is some sort of supernatural creature. (In 'JLA: The Nail', the media is speculating as to his precise nature, and they come up with two possible choices - alien or demon. 'Human' is not even considered. Now THAT'S a well-controlled reputation.)

Huh. My first thought was "Wow! Batman's a jedi ghost!"

In a roundabout way, that made me think of the famous "I am your father" scene in Star Wars, with Kon-El as Luke, Batman as Obi-Wan, and Lex Luthor as Darth Vader.

Does that make Clark Leia?

I think Clark would be Padme and Kara would be Leia. I wonder who would be Yoda? Krypto?
