Hmm, looking more closely at that panel Osborn might not be inflicting that wound at all. Might be Loki or mysterious shadowy figure from SI: DR.

Doom will still come out of this fine though.

You might be right there.

Regarding Hood's new uber-guns, they kinda remind me of the somewhat obscure manga "Cannon God Exxaxion" where the main character had a gun that could fire bullets and Mach-6 speed or something.

I would love it if this storyline has a scene of Osborn losing his shit over having ambushed and killed Doom only to find out it's a Doombot for like the seventh or eighth time.

OSBORN: !@#$%! How many of these damn things does he have?!? Loki, can't you at least tell if it's the real Doom or not before we waste our time trying to blow him up?
LOKI: Now where would be the fun in that?
