Last gasp of Halloween week
Dracula faces his demons...

I wish Marvel would bring back "Tomb of Dracula" I loved his look in the return from Capt.Britain and M13.

First of all, it's "Tepes", not "Teppisch". Secondly, your scans are in the wrong order.

Depends who's inking him. With Palmer it works either way--only he and Steve Leialoha ever were able to simultaneously make his pencils work in ink and render them faithfully. Otherwise color tends to work better in clarifying his shapes.

B&W: suits the Universal Horror groove plus adds "Might World of Marvel" nostalgia.

That's a... sad moment for Dracula at the end, there. You'd think being the king of vampires, possibly the most eroticized mythical creature out there, would mean that you wouldn't get dumped so embarassingly. Apparently not!

What I find sad about it is not so much that he gets dumped - he evidently deserves it - it's the fact that he has evidently been on this whole 'Lord of the Vampires' power trip for so long that he is unable to come down from it. He evidently does have some sort of feelings for this woman underneath all the bluster, but he can't express them properly - the only sorts of relationships he truly comprehends are master/slave and hunter/hunted. If he could just get down off his high horse for a few minutes, he might yet be able to salvage the relationship, or at least have it end a little more gracefully, but he can't. Even if he ever felt the desire to reject his dreams of power and evil and take up a (relatively) normal life, he wouldn't be able to, because this way of behaving is all he knows. In that sense, he really is somewhat pitiful.
