Justice Society of America #32
Four pages...

Power Girl knocks him down with super-breath.

Ladies and gentlemen, who do you think is the culprit? King Chimera? The All-American Kid? Neither? Both?

Because Willingham loves America, which means we need another sleventy baskrillion redundant patriot-themed legacy heroes on the team.

And the entire point of Magog's character was to serve as an indictment of Image heroes, so the fact that Willingham is using him as his mouthpiece to justify Jack Bauer-style methods is pretty much an epic exercise in missing the fucking point.

It makes sense with Magog though. A military soldier who has been at war isn't going to see much of a point in the wait and see approach.

Um, technically speaking, I was a military soldier (well, sailor) who served in TWO foreign wars, and that experience left me more convinced than EVER of the "wait and see" approach.

Hence, why I apply the chickenhawk label to Magog. If Willingham was an Iraq war vet, as he portrays Magog as being, I might give it a bit more credence, but as it stands, he comes across like a non-serving neo-con who makes his pet character a vet to confer an artificial air of authority to his AMERICA FUCK YEAH opinions.

But Magog comes from the Bush "preemptive strike" era.

I served from 1996-2003, and was part of Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom, back to back.

I say, ONCE AGAIN, that the Bush preemptive strike era IS THE REASON WHY I would adopt a "wait and see" approach, because I was PART of that era, and I saw for MYSELF that IT DOESN'T WORK.

On the other hand, it looks like everything terrible about the 90s is quickly coming back to full force, so it could just be incredibly meta.

There's been a Darkness/Witchblade/Darkchylde cross-over solicited. "Superstar" Randy Queen on art duties.

We just didn't bury the 90's deep enough, it seems.
