SCIENCE GONE MAD!
For Halloween week, a Halloween tale, from #20 of SUPER FRIENDS, which continues to be leagues more awesome than the majority of DC's adult fare.

So it's that time of year again and a small child dressed as Batman is narrating a scary story to his buddies - a story, naturally, about the Super Friends, and what happened one Halloween when they got called out to a parade.

Way to not notice the giant shaggy monster which is rampaging right in front of you, guys.

Diana tries to lasso him and he chucks her over the horizon, Clark tries a wrestle hold and gets a sore arm for his trouble, even Bruce's knockout gas can't drop the beast. So while John is off making sure Diana's okay, the other Super Friends decide knowledge is power and get the lowdown on the Shagster from Professor Frankenstein Zagarian there. (Armenian mad scientist, guys. I'm so proud. :D) It's the same as mainline canon, but for those who don't know:

Can Sholly Fisch write mainstream Wonder Woman now please?

So beauty tames the savage beast. But Bruce makes the quite sensible observation that they still need to get him out of town somehow without making him flip out again, and there's lots of civilians between here and there to muck things up.

No fear, though, Arthur has a plan!

Narrating Batman Kid there didn't impress his friends much with this story, they think he's making it up. But then his uncle pops his head in and turns out to be none other than the mad doctor Zagarian himself!

Upon further questioning by the kids, he reveals the true ultimate fate of the Shaggy Man.

So, he's Bigfoot now. Dumping him in Hal Jordan's back yard. I like it.

Yay, it's been a while since Diana used my second favorite of her powers (first is when she uses the bracers). Very Sun Tzu, warrior. Those who know when to fight and when not to fight are victorious. :)

Heh, John uses the ring for spooky flashlight effect, and Wally's marshmallow is on fire.

In mainline it has, maybe. In SUPER FRIENDS she does it all the time, it's awesome. (Also fun: the guys all hiding wussily in the bushes while she goes out to pet the monster. I know they're just staying out of the way so as not to overwhelm and overagitate him, but it's still hilarious. "Talking him down? Um. Sure, Diana. Good idea. You go ahead.")

Wally's marshmallow is on fire.

Well, it's Wally. He's not the type to patiently wait for the thing to brown.
