What's your point? Marvel is trying to have its cake and eat it - having gay couples, but not showing much of the scary gay on-panel. It's the Will & Grace effect - gays are fine as long as they don't have the icky gay sex.
It's also possible Marvel wouldn't have to depend on its steadily shrinking conservative fanbase if it made an effort to reach out to more people. Girls and gays have money too, y'know. A hell of a lot of women went to see Spider-Man and The Dark Knight.
