This was a time where I really wished Dick was Nightwing, because there's something funny about Batman on the trapeze.

Also--Dick, your dad's eyes were blank and white? Wow. Okay, that might actually make sense if it means that anyone who looks at a loved one sees them looking the way they did instead of like zombies.

It's a shame this isn't in continuity just because there can't really be any debriefing after it. It's like Tim and Dick just shared parallel intense therapy sessions but they can't talk about them because Tim's outta there now.

"It's a shame this isn't in continuity "

Well, it is part of DC's biggest event comic of the year, so...yeah, it's safe to say it's in continuity.

Blah--my bad. That's not went I meant. I meant that it was a shame that it was a contained arc that was over without continuing into other non-BL Batbooks.

It's definitely in continuity. Oops!

It's a guy thing. We don't talk in public restrooms, either.

That seriously does explain it all. You're right, they would never talk about it even if this wasn't a special crossover.

I really like Tim's conversation with his dad. It was sweet.

I'd have to check, but isn't this word for word from the phone conversation in Identity Crisis? Just with "Tell Bruce to take care of you" replaced with Dick?

Pretty much. I'd have to check, too, but everything up to the point where he starts addressing him specifically is definitely a direct lift. I can't remember how the rest of it went, but given his lack of response to Tim, I'd assume it all is.

there goes another bunch to the Dark Side.as a wise, wrinkled green alien with only 3 fingers on each hand once said,"Beware of the dark side. Anger...fear...aggression. The dark side of the Force are they. Easily they flow, quick to join you in a fight." ;)

So, not content with fighting and belittling the superheroes, the zombies actually go out of their way to enact little skits just to fuck with their heads. Those zombies are assholes.

Oooh... I am so looking forward to a Ruffles the Rage Kitty/Sobek face-off...

Sobek technically was a Apokalipitian superweapon, and returned in the Four Horsemen mini series post-52 in a new body, so he probably isn't coming back.

Osiris, however, is going to be hunting depowered Mary and Billy in a few months though.

Huh, the Graysons and Mr. Drake sure do look good for animated dead bodies (especially considering how we've seen Terry, Terra, and other zombies look like)...did they and Jade get tips from MJ on how to stay undead and youthful or something?

No, because he's the goddamned Batman. Then he would've defeated the zombies with holywater held in a spraycan. And then stood over their bodies, rhuminating moodily about opportunities lost.

Eh, debatible. He would've figured out immediatly the death was being reinacted, and something wasn't right.

Actually, I'd say "Moment of weakness, then he wouldn't fall for it." Why? Because it's happened in other scenarios before. He knows the drill.

Problem: Doesn't matter, he'd still glow bright green with Willpower.

Dick knows that too. He's not falling for anything, he's just caught up in the emotion of having his parents there--as Bruce presumably would have been too. Dick even says to his parents that they're going to try to eat him in a moment.

Dick, you're not being a hypocrite just to be a hypocrite. No one is a hypocrite just to be a hypocrite. In fact, most people you know do rather self-destructive things to *avoid* being a hypocrite.

I'm sure there have been many "takes" on Zucco killing the Graysons, but has he ever been "They deserved it!" about the whole thing? I've wondered about that sort of thing since DAREDEVIL: YELLOW where Slade taunted Matt Murdock, saying Jack Murdock deserved to get murdered for not throwing the fight.

Reprinted in THE BLACK GLOVE TPB, Joe Chill said he didn't regret killing the Waynes, he regretted not killing Young Bruce *first*.

No, because the Grayson's didn't really matter to Zucco. He didn't know or care about them, they were a means to an end, a specially picked high profile example of that would happen again if the circus didn't pay protection money. He might have picked the lion tamer or the fire eaters, but "The Falling Graysons" (Thank you Slapstick for THAT little image) were the most high profile of the lot, and a public "accident" would attract the most notoriety. And if their cute little boy had gone splat too, well that would have been gravy in terms of the "I'm a badass racketeer who'll eliminate kids without a qulam so don't mess with me" reputation

Is it safe to say that the Black Lanterns are possibly the most dangerous things the DC Universe have faced? I mean, it's one thing to fight a snarling alien who has a lot of power, but fighting your best friend, mother, father or lover who has incredible strength and GL abilities along with knowledge of your innermost secrets has got to be the toughest thing to possibly face.

I wonder if they're gonna do anything with Jason in this? Doesn't he have THREE parental figures that could be fucking with him right now? And what about the fact that he was supposed to be dead? How does DC pass an opportunity like that?
