Except it's his issues with magic which are the head-scratching moments, you CAN'T work on the same team as Zatanna, or work with Alan Scott, or team up with Etrigan, or fight Neron, or any one of a hundred other examples, and be ambivalent, or in a state of denial, towards the concept of magic, it'd be like denying the existence of nitrogen in the atmosphere...
