Destroyer becomes Creator
Two more pages from the Old Man Logan Special and four pages plus cover and recap page from Fantastic Force #4

Oh and here's an image from Superman The DarkSide which works well with the post...

Wolverine is then shown getting ready to leave his home after giving his family a proper burial (or as close as one can get in the awful future it's set in)

And Logan sets out to form a team and save the future from the supervillains ruling it.

Now flashforward on his timeline we get to Fantastic Force where he's formed his team including having Bruce Banner Jr. grown up.

That's Psionics and her father Lightwave for those not reading the mini. And a recap for all those who haven't been keeping up.

Before getting to the Wolverine bits I thought SD would appreciate seeing this.

Just before this in the story we also get told by Psionics that she's supposedly a descendant of Polaris. Which I find interesting but also unlikely given Polaris was one of the dead X-Men in Old Man Logan, unless she had a child before that and she was told this by the insane Polaris of the Hysteries in one of the prior issues. But who knows.

Now to the sad that is BB Jr., Logan and Gaea.

Gaea finally realizes she should let her children go since she's going to die.

BB Jr. then goes back home with his time machine. And informs the team of Wolverine staying in the future.

So Wolverine and Gaea somehow hook up to rebirth Earth.

Of course that last page can be interpreted in a number of ways particularly since Gaea's a manifestation of the planet.

Wolverine alone somehow reinvigorates the planet by working tirelessly and this leads Gaea to somehow recover and prepare to be reborn from herself.

Wolverine actually impregnates Gaea and the new child will be the next Gaea and thus the planet somehow recovers by itself etc...

Regardless it's a nice way to end the Old Man Logan story. He would be the one to stay since we see he wants to save the world at the end of Old Man Logan but then fails miserably when the planet itself begins to die so this is his atonement in a way.

Suggested tag list.

I really liked the final image of him riding off into the sunset.

If Roland of Gilead was ever allowed to get old, thats what I thought he might look like.

Wander the Earth, Logan. Set things right.

I was actually really liking the Fantastic Force bits until "He'll give her his healing factor somehow." followed by panel of pregnant woman. No cookie for you, writer.

Also, I guess this version of Wolverine is now Thor's new stepfather.

Well Thor's presumably dead in Old Man Loganverse but yeah I was thinking that too.

Not just that, he's also the stepfather of Atum. Making him the grandfather of the whole Egyptian pantheon.

I don't know if this is supposed to be Old Man Logan; isn't She-Hulk the mother of the hulkbaby he took, whereas Betty is the mother of Bruce Banner Jr?

Well Bruce Jr. thought Betty was his mom (we don't really know who it is) because the crazy Jean Grey sent the idea into his mind. She-Hulk wouldn't be the parent of Bruce Jr. though the family does come from there. It's kinda unclear what generation he'd be 2nd or third etc.. He's presumably the grandson of the original Bruce Banner but we don't know if his mom was another member of the incestuous Hulk gang or how much interbreeding there is amongst the family members. And given one scene it's possible one of his parents was a normal human since the men in the Old Man Logan special had orgies with regular women and it's possible the same happens with the women of the Hulk gang.

So the only two members of the Hulk gang that we know are incestuous are the original Hulk and She-Hulk.

Also, how come Wolverine looked younger here, when he was an old man in Old Man Logan?

Different artists, different renditions, most likely.

Though given that he apparently lived another 500 years, maybe he had some work done in the mean-time.

Now this might be more artistic license or Wolversceince.

Here are a few possibilities.

Wolverine doesn't seem to age much for one thing and in Old Man Logan he had fought in YEARS. My working theory is that he only aged during the course of those years with his wife because he hadn't been blown up.So say he gets completely blown up or close to it he regenerates to tip top condition so it's like he's staying young because of it. IE it restores him to his best state.

Another possibility the future before Earth died as we learned had some great scientific stuff going on including medicine that extended human life, like allowing Reed and Sue to live for hundreds of years, apply this to Wolverine and maybe his body turned younger.

Third, artistic license?

I like how Miller linked his 'Old Man Logan' story with his arc on FF with enough subtlility (sp?) without having everyone go WTF?!!

But in the Fantastic Four arc that introduced the Older Logan etc., they said that the world was destoryed when pollution and disease caused the rich to move off-world. They didn't mention whatever caused the Supervillains to take over the US.

That was set 500 years in the future, so apparently things work out for Logan and co. in the near-term.

Actually the characters in the Fantastic Four appears years after the "Old Man Logan' arc considering that at the end of the first arc, the Hulking was still a baby but in Fantastic Four, he is a full grown man.
