Well, Atlantis.

It's time I say goodbye. I've decided to head on home late this evening when the comings and goings happen. I'm hoping by going back I'll be returned to myself and hey, might end up here again, might not, but my work and skills are better suited to the Sanctuary which is where I need to be.

I'll miss some of you, and wish all of you the best. I know you've got all the tools and people to win.

Hi Atlantis!

I'm Tilly and I'm new here! Well, Sylvia. Sylvia Tilly. But everything calls me Tilly. But that's because we use last names in Starfleet. Do you know what Starfleet is? I don't think there is Starfleet here, but there are people from Starfleet. Which makes this seem like maybe it's more than just a bad trip on the mycelial network or a really crazy dream. or some bad drugs. Which is unlikely because since Captain Pike came onboard we haven't really had time for any parties and he's not the kind of captain who I think would be fun to run into hungover. Not that he's a debbie downer or anything... I nearly broke his hand on his first day.

Anyways! Right! Tilly. Or Sylvia. I've been assigned to work in science which should be fun. I mean, I like science. And math. I'm more of a theoretical engineer, but engineering is science and I've worked in astromycology so I think I can be a good fit for science.

I think it's pretty evident that I need to be moved from Engineering to Science & research. I'm an ABBA and I need my research to be incredibly black and white, right now. I brought slimes with me to Atlantis that I'd like to plant and cultivate into fully grown babies.

[ONE CHARACTER EACH decides they want to be transferred from their current job but their reasoning is jibberish!]

This year has been a rough one so far, between losses and the fact that we are fighting a war being driven in too close to home, but I think that just makes it more important to hold on to the people you love for as long as you have and never take them for granted. No one is ever promised tomorrow in any life or time. Even the so-called immortal have ways of being killed. That threat of loss is always there, no matter how much we try to forget or deny it. That's why we have to make the most of the time we have.

It's a hard lesson to learn, but it seems Atlantis is as determined to teach it as my own world was.

Seeing as Solaire decided to sneak off into the night on us (word is he's on a mission, but I don't have any details), Fenris and I have talked it over and we're postponing the wedding to the 24th. Hopefully we can get that arranged without too much trouble. I don't know how these things work. We might have to sell Grace and keep our secondborn. BUT ideally, I won't have to stab anyone. I'd intended to do this much sooner but our fair city had entirely different plans for me. Now that things are calmer, I feel it's time that I properly introduce myself to all of you. My name is Doctor Helen Magnus and I consider it an absolute pleasure to serve as the Commander of a team of amazing men and women.

PLOT: ONE CHARACTER EACH wakes up with a toothache today. If they get it checked out that tooth is pulled and it's discovered it was a fake tooth over a real tooth and it holds a fortune, like a fortune cookie type fortune.

Guess what I found! It's almost as good as a dragon. In ten days time, we will be enjoying a holiday here in Atlantis! For those of you who, like me, aren't familiar with many holidays, it is a day dedicated to the power of love, and it's called Valentines Day. Or... Valentine's Day. I'm honestly not sure. I did some research on it, and it appears as if Valentine was some sort of holy man in his day, but honestly all that bit was a lot of reading and I got bored so you'll have to look up the rest of that if you'd like some history because I definitely didn't stick with it. But the holiday dedicated to St. Valentine is wonderful! It's a celebration of love, which I think is so essential. In dark and uncertain times, there's nothing quite so reassuring as knowing that there's someone or someones out there waiting for you to get home, is there?

From what I can tell, the main colours of this holiday are pink and red. There are lots of images of lovers gazing into another's eyes, beautiful small paper artworks with embroidered lace, and somewhat bafflingly, what appear to be winged babies wearing poorly-constructed diapers shooting people. I'm not sure what that's about. Perhaps it's to remind us that life is fleeting and that we should love while we have the opportunity before babies kill us with tiny arrows? I've also discovered through the research that wasn't historical and dull that people are supposed to give one another chocolates or cinnamon candies on Valentines Day, love letters, roses (or other flowers), and send anonymous letters of love to their crushes. So if you're single, this is still a holiday that you can benefit from!

I'm very excited about Valentines Day. It seems optimistic and fun and lighthearted, and with the days being so short and spring seemingly so far away, I could use the distraction.
