Save Atlantis RPG

In before my aunt says 'for fuck's sake kid get some art instead of war' (and she will), I kind of need to know if she's going to drag me to another gallery opening before I can unpack.

I just kind of wanted to relax, maybe fix the roof. Is there anything art going on? Please say no.

I became a paramedic because of a car accident. I was a teenager and a good friend was killed. I never wanted to feel helpless again, I wanted to be able to save someone's life because I couldn't save hers. The thing is that I learned really quickly that sometimes you can't save everyone, no matter how much you want to.

Today was one of those days. Thank god I get off at 6 PM and I can go home, have dinner and a nice long bath and then hibernate for the next three days. Or maybe I'll only hibernate for one day. Well see how I feel.

After all the years I've lived here, you'd think my mom would get the hint that I'm not moving back. Every time I call, it's "mija, who is going to take care of me when I'm old if you're living in so far away?" or "I bet no one cooks like I do there." (Okay, that is true.) Tonight was "who will help you take care of your children when you and Micah finally decide to bless me with grandchildren?" Okay, mamá. Yes, I am completely helpless without you.

I'm trying really hard not to burst her bubble about this, but the fact that it's basically nonstop sweater weather here is the real clincher.

Today is an awesome day. Why? Because it’s one of my best friend’s birthday!
